Bangor(near Orono :) ) has a nice waterfront concert venue, they just announced that Phish is playing there this summer, the place will seat 16,000, TF, Phish played Loring AFB, 3 times about 15 years ago or so had 100,000 burners up there. Mind you Loring AFB is 4 hrs north of Bangor in the middle of nowhere(not that Bangor isn't :) ) They bought every
bag of ice near I 95 in Maine, every 6 pack and all the whoopie pies they could find. I imagine Doritos wondered why there sales were up in Maine those summers :D

So I'm considering a Costco membership. Have a few friends with memberships, their store brand is generally good stuff, and overall they run a good business.

Only problem is I'm not sure I'd recoup enough cost to be worth it. Where are the savings at for someone like me? Being a single working stiff in a 900 sf 3rd floor condo I have no use for 50 pounds of Rice-A-Roni. I understand they sell car insurance, travel bookings, TVs, etc. as well. Anyone with a membership - worth it?
I have one and go a few times a yr. As someone said get one big ticket item and you are all set. One yr it was an itouch, another some northface coats, the savings paid for the membership.
BJs is closer to me and I save a ton with them- use the coupons and buy only what we would normally use. There are only 3 of us but the membership pays for itself in about Feb. Stuff like toilet paper, Laundry detergent doesn't go bad.

Missouri, actually. Mom's side (no kidding ). At least my family tree has branches.
This made me laugh.

Glad my Charlie Brown Christmas tree of a family tree amuses you.

I remember the effects of that Phish concert. I was in the booze business in the Bangor area at the time. Those stoners were like the Bounty quicker picker upper of beer as they went north. There was like a tornado trail of destruction in their path. The value of the empties that they left behind (each with a 5 cent deposit) was staggering. Then the next year the bosses were pizzed when our numbers were down (yes, they were 25 watt bulbs in a 100 watt environment).

So the F5 tickets may have been found, I may also get 4 tickets to this weekends UMN vs BSU games.

For F5, I'll take one for each game, if you could. :)

Don't care which "one" going by past history. I actually love the cheap seat one. I prefer that view.

The upper deck ends are nice seats for watching the game, but I like having both sets to get differing perspectives.

Another fun day here today. Mom had a meeting with the real estate guy here, and I was just a little fly on the wall here. He about choked when Mom told him that she wants 6 months after the sell date to move out. Makes sense to me because its going to take her a while to find anyplace that we could move our horses to, and get it into shape to take the horses there. We could probably stash em for a while over at a friends of her's place if we really had to, but I would think one big move would be a lot less stressful all around. That and after she rattled off all the stuff that might not be up to stuff on the place, I bet he was wishing that he didn't have dad dropping this whole hot mess in his lap.

I can understand that. My personal fave seats are just to the right of where your good seats are, and a couple rows higher. However, being at the end and seeing plays develop more clearly....something to be said about that.

Morning. At dock down here in Texas.

Hope the crew on the boat that ran over the LPG pipeline in Louisiana will be alright. Caused an explosion and possible oil spill. I'll be passing that general area in 3-4 days.

Good morning Lodge! Morning started off with great news for me workwise so I'm in an excellent mood at the moment.

Heard the weather report this morning that we're supposed to get 2-3" of snow on Saturday. I hope they didn't screw that up again and we get 23" as I have Comcast coming in to set up my new TV that has been sitting in a box in my living room since late December. My cousin and his friend are coming over an hour before Comcast is due to arrive to move my current living room TV into the second bedroom. It's a huge, bulky one. Lots of logistics to get into place.
