Hmm... I could have met up with JF? I'm not in Detroit but when I was rescheduling I considered it. I'm stuck at JFK right now.

Just had post #5000, but I didn't see it coming, so I didn't make it one for the ages. Rookie mistake. I'm sorry.

But where are the free drinks, steaks the size of the table??

I absolutely HATE my job. But, I can't wait to get back to it. 19 days off is far too much when it isn't broken up by any kind of travel.

Morning.

Got home only 2 hours later than my scheduled time last night. Not bad considering both Detroit and Pittsburgh were in snow storms.

Had a nice dinner and opened presents with the SO. Was great. I scored pretty much everything I wanted. :)

If it isn't a secret, just curious as to where you are.
He lives in Florida, on the Tampa Bay side as i recall.

Good Morning Lodge.

Thanks for the intel on Pitt JF.

Brent, sometimes it's the only way that makes sense. Spent the night in the (old) Detroit airport many years ago when a NWA plane went down killing ~250 people. We really didn't have much choice. By the time our plane had landed all nearby hotels were full, all ground transport unavailable, all flights done for the night. Our choices boiled down to stay the night and try for first flight out in the morning or spend the night standing in line hoping to get a cab/bus/whatever to find some hotel that had space. We slept on benches in the airport and made the second flight out in the AM. Turned out our bags had made it on to our original connecting flight about 5 hours late but the monitors were off by the time we landed and no gate personnel were around to tell us our flight was still at the airport.
