Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #157: Hockey Watching Habits

How does one say goodbye to their hometown from 500 miles away?
My parents are moving to Houston today. I no longer have family in Maryland, and I'm not close friends with any of my high school friends, so there's no reason for me to return to Westminster. It'll be tough not going home for the holidays anymore. I know I've moved on, but it was nice to return home a few times a year, see what had changed, visit my old haunts.

But the happy news is that you're not made of wood, so you won't burn. That means you'll prove to them that you're not a witch.

No according to them. At least I have your encouraging words to prove them wrong. ;)

What- no venison??!! (Board has poluted my brain. I now hear Wisconsin and think "deer!":o

I am from the "civilization" part of Wisconsin.

Good afternoon Lodge.

Checking in from Gillettes Children's hospital in St. Paul.

Little g once again impressed the staff and most importantly the orthopedic surgeon. For the time being and into the long term little g has no issues with his hips and surgery is not an option.

FWIW.........The Joe Mauer room here at the hospital is quite impressive.

Good for little g!

Does the Joe Mauer room break a lot?

So, I've gone from having very little to do to all of a sudden being totally swamped. The good part is, I'm working on FIFA stuff and am being included on this next big announcement thing that I can't share yet. I should have used my down time to clean off my very messy desk. Now I don't have the time to do it.

I don't know what to do for dinner tonight. Breakfast maybe?

Kraft Dinner. That's always a good choice.

There is a civilized part of Wisconsin? Then again I just look at Wisconsin as a series of lovely curvey roads for my bike!

Mmmm Venison.
I was out riding one day with three friends, we pulled up to some pub for lunch somewhere deep in Wisconsin (ok I think we were maybe an hour west of Madison). Fried Green beans on the menu, which was the only vegetable on the menu.
I do heart Eagle River though.

Just cooked a batch of cookies in my new oven. :D So nice not to have to turn the cookie sheets every 4 minutes.

*HT, thanks. Saw MNS on the Gophers at Tech broadcast.
Tech looked surprisingly improved and the Gophers need to remember that there are two ends to the ice sheet. Yikes.

I think this is the weekend to buff my headlight lenses and see if I can fix my snow blower's engine. I've never worked on a small engine before. This should prove interesting.
