Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #156: The Ultimate Showdown

Swapping back over to the 12-6 watch. 'twas a decent week on the 6-12, but these 12 straight hour swaps suck. Luckily I found some fog, so I'm pushed into the riverbank for the last couple hours. They don't pay me enough to keep going in that stuff, especially down here in Alabama where it can blanket you in 5 minutes and make visibility less than 500 feet. No thanks.

Oh, c'mon, where is your sense of adventure? Besides, how will we ever read about you in the news if you don't do something dumb with the boat?;)

Too bad that there are "very few" icebergs on the Mississippi River system. ;)

Good morning lodge.

Going to be a long day. Got back the the gf's house at about 1:30 last night after the concert, and only got about 4 hours of sleep. The concert was crazy good, and our seats were really good. 2nd row on the floor, with a fairly small standing room area in front of us in front of the stage.

But plenty of bridge piers! And other barges, wing dams, tugs and boats!

And, currently, lots of shallow water ;). Too bad I'm over above Mobile, AL running up a river with hard rock on some banks and lots of twists and hard turns! Fun river to run, some bends have just enough room for our barges and boat (685 ft) to make the turn. Not much room for error.

Last night was my first ever real concert. It may be tough to top that one. All three were solid, and Church put on one hell of a show. Acoustic part of it is just unreal. Had such a great time. My girlfriend loved every second as well. Just an absolute all around phenomenal time.

Happy Friday all!

Free Floyd!:)

Where were your seats?

Here's a picture from where we were sitting, pretty **** nice! https://twitter.com/bigblue_dl/status/251727323995459584

edit: The acoustic stuff is always very good. But my favorite is when it all goes dark and he starts playing the piano, and then goes into Springsteen. Such an incredible song. The one song that he doesn't play at concerts that I really wish he did is Those I've Loved, but he played Carolina which is another less popular song that I absolutely love. The crazy thing about Eric Church concerts: he plays many songs that never made it to the radio as singles, and everyone in the building knows the songs and sings along.

We were sitting in Row K right in the center.. Section 3? 11 rows from that small VIP area.

Carolina is such a phemonenal song. I really want to see him again. I have a video on my facebook page of 2 minutes of Springsteen.. I've watched it at least ten times today. It was so very awesome last night! Definitely plan on seeing him again.

Very good point on his songs. I didn't dislike any of them. I really like Love Your Love the Most and I liked him setting the tone with Country Music Jesus.. What the hell I truly loved every song! Haha

Edit: I have pics on my Facebook as well.

Worked on an one armed guy today. He wasn't just missing the arm, but the shoulder as well. the clavical and scapula had been removed, and I believe they attached some of the major shoulder muscles together to kind of provide a muscular cap to that area of his rib cage. It was kind of interesting to work on that and figure out what was left to his anatomy there, as he did want quite a bit of work there on what you would call the stump of his shoulder.
