Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #156: The Ultimate Showdown
So, Comcast guy just left. About a week or so before I went on vacation, something happened to the TiVo box on my living room TV. Got them to restart it, then a bunch of my channels were screwy. Some were pixelated/there was tiling, some weren't coming in at all. It was getting better right before I left but I didn't have time to call them. When I got home last night I noticed it was still happening. I called last night to schedule a tech. He was able to fix all that, but now the TV in my second bedroom doesn't work. When I moved here, I had the cable going directly into the TV and then from the TV to the TiVo, which is how it is supposed to be set up. Then, a few years back, Comcast went all digital so if you didn't have a TV to accept a digital signal, you needed a little digital converter box. I got it, set it up so that the cable from the wall went into the little digital converter box, then to the Tivo box, then from the TiVo box to the television. It was working fine. When I programmed the TiVo, it was able to change channels, etc. I had to point the remote at the digital converter box and there was a slight delay, but it happened. It was working right before I left. Now? Not at all. The technician guy looked at the set up and he was like "There's no way this should be working at all. It can't be done." I told it had been working that way as long as I had the digital converter box. *big sigh* So, if I want, I can get the cable to go directly into the digital cable box into the TV so I can watch it. But I can't hook this TiVo box up to it. I'm so confused. So now I'm down to two DVRs. Unless I decide to move the TV from my living room into the 2nd bedroom and do what I've wanted to do for a long time, which is buy a new flat screen for my living room.
