Well, was down about $400 in the first 90 minutes at the casino tonight, then went to Roulette for a couple hours where I rattled off a net gain of $600. Felt **** nice having 10 blacks in my pocket walking up to the cashier.

I thought it was something for a big distrabution center they have up there I think. sort out a lot of the stuff that's gotta go to the Far East, and send it on cargo plans on runs to Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, Bangkok.

IIRC, he works loading/unloading cargo off the planes.

Anchorage is one of the largest international shipping hubs in the world (usually only behind Hong Kong and Memphis, which is FedEx's main US hub.) It's basically an 8 hour jump from ANYWHERE you need to go in the developed Northern Hemisphere. Buy something from Apple and track the package, odds are it will pass through Anchorage.

Good Morning, Lodge!

I am furious at UPS and FedEx right now. FedEx was to deliver 12 boxes to my customer. Only 1 was delivered and the remaining 11 were sent back to us saying customer refused. Found out that the boxes needed to be rerouted, but how the * did the one get delivered to the correct address and the other 11 did not. With UPS, I had to schedule an intercept and need it back ASAP. Apparently the person working there does not know the definition of multi-tasking. How hard is it to type and listen to the customer at the same time? [/rant]

Good Morning Lodge.

Woke up feeling like crap an hour before my alarm went off (3:20 AM). Had bad vertigo and worried I'd tip over when I tried to walk. It finally cleared up by about 6 AM. Made it into work about 45 minutes late and still not feeling great.

Seasonal nasal allergies can really just suck it. That goes doubly for when they first hit after stepping onto the bus ill-prepared. That ride was not fun. I had to stop in at Target downtown to grab some loratadine that probably still won't take effect for an hour.

Morning.

Pittsburgh's transit system makes Minneapolis look like the city of the future. It's pretty poor, and I am only 6 miles from downtown.

So I will have to go through the process of getting a license I guess. I held out over 20 years. That's a pretty good run!

I thought you had a license but not a car??? Didn't you drive atruck out to PA?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #153: Condiments, anyone?

Jr is in driver's ed right now, but I guess you want a PA class instead of one in Edina.
Turns out, I don't need to take a class at my age. ;)

Although true story, the street I live on is maybe 2 blocks long and at the beginning of it, a driving school.

That's a mistake! People like you should have to take extra training. there must be some good reason why you got to that age without a license. :p

At least in Pittsburgh you can park on the wrong side of the street, and no one will notice! (Boy was that weird the first time I visited.)

They are crazy drivers there. Not New York City crazy, but between parking wherever they feel like, every other road going up a mountain at 45 degrees, the "Pittsburgh left" (have fun with THAT one, JF), and the road network enough to give Jesse Ventura a brain hemorrhage, it's bizarre to drive in that town.

Afternoon, Lodge. I need a cold... anything.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #153: Condiments, anyone?

Evening, Lodge. Today's not been a good day. First, my dietitian needed to reschedule my appointment, which meant moving it back to September, and I found out how much it's going to cost to repair the engine on my van: $2845, including labor and taxes. I'm with BPH, I need a cold anything, because I'm about to snap.
