PB, you shouldn't have to deal with FIBs if you're driving east-west. But I understand what you mean about traveling three weekends in a row.

I must be doing something right! One of the customers I work with sometimes called to try to convince me to take a new position that just opened up, that would be a full-time support of his company. Its nice to get a little confidence boost every once in a while. Now I have to go see what this new position is all about....

So, question for you Lodge folk. You know I'm not the type to gloat or brag about my teams (especially before games and not afterwards) and it bothers me a bit when people do it me directly. For example - I'm looking at you Mr. hp1015 who bragged about how the Yankees were going to beat the Sox to me on Twitter while I was at Fenway for the 100th Anniversary talking about how it was a great day and a cool event. I mean, I get it, but I never said anything like "It would be a perfect day to beat those dreaded Yankees!!" No offense hp1015, I just don't like it when people do that to me directly because I never do it back. Unprovoked.

I was in contact with one of our managers out in Oklahoma City for a project and sent him an email this morning and at the end wrote "Go Thunder!! Celtics fans across New England are thrilled!" We had a previous email conversation about them, how well they were doing there, etc. I get an email back saying

. Not be confrontational but you do realize we can beat the Celtics, if it gets that far. After all, this is the playoffs and we are a young team. Heck, Charles Barkley is coming to OKC now. I think you guys will take care of the 76’s but then run into trouble with Miami. Even if you do beat them, your old legs will be sore when you run up against either a strong Spurs team or a young Thunder team.

Now really, what in my one sentence prompted that response?? There was no smiley or anything. Dick.

Scarlet, I think it's a guy thing. You should have seen our discussions with the Milwaukee office of my old firm back when the Vikings were actually kind of relevant.

I accepted the offer today. The second firm couldn't make up their mind so I told them no thanks. Now I need to do some technology shopping - advice is welcome. This firm has a $2,000/yr allowance that I expect to spend on smart phone and voice/data plan and possibly a tablet if that fits in the budget.

Also busy filling out the application to BSM for jr today. Dropped off the transcript request at his current school this morning. Crap, now I'll have to get red and white clothes. Somebody might think I like 'Sconny or BU or something.

Even if you have a $100/Month cell phone bill, and a $200 smart phone (contract cost), that leaves you with $600 to spend on the tablet. That should be plenty. Even if you wanted an iPad, that would only run an extra $200 out of pocket for the top end ones.

I'm a huge fan of Android phones. I've used iphones before, and I'll take my Droid every single time. Just make sure you get something 4G, the difference in night and day when compared to 3G. I don't have much experience with tablets, since I only have a Kindle Fire, which is really all I need in a tablet.

Heh, I recieved a consulting offer via linkedin this morning... I may inquire a bit but I'm not exactly thrilled with the idea of taking up a life of consulting... I'm dealing with enough stress as it is.

I have a iPhone 4s. I recently purchased a new iPad (iPad 3) 64 gb and I also purchased an iPad 2 64gb. I am very impressed with all the products from Apple.

It's all about personal preference and budget. Not knowing how you will use the technology or what kind of expectations you have it is difficult to make recommendations. The iPad has limitations but it is an awesome device.
