Both Bruins and BU losing today/tonight. I wasn't even going to go to the BU game tonight. It's my day with my niece/godchild. B's game and dinner for her birthday. She loves both Seguin and Lucic, who both scored today, so she was a little happier than me. *big sigh*

Happy hockey table! The Golden Gophers are the sole owners of the MacNaughton Cup for amassing the most regular season points in the WCHA during the 2011-2012 season. Hooray!

Gonna be a long 7 months. Bad weekend to lay an egg on the PP, and play poorly overall, but I half expected it, we were due for a losing streak of a handful, it just followed the season of streakyness.

Starting to build little contingency plans for the NCAAs... I ought to stop :p

My pick is still MSP... would cost the most but since its an actual city it has the most potential... unlike Green Bay, Bridgeport, or Worcester.

I'm still deciding if GB or Bridgeport would be worse... Bridgeport would be universally worse except that I can stay with a UConn USCHOer (Dobbs).

Worcester gets a pass since I get to go home.

Denver trailed 2-1 with 1:57 to play, got a power play, pulled Sam Brittain and scored a 6 on 4 goal with 38 seconds to play. Dan Doremus scored his fourth goal of the year 2:35 into OT and Denver won 3-2 over Neb-O. Denver sweeps the series. Nice job fellas. Now it will be either Wisconsin or Bemidji in the first round of the playoffs next week. Denver improved to 21-3-2 when scoring three or more goals in a game this season.

From what I remember, this will be the first time this year Tech has been shutout. Progress? ;)

Upsets happen on the road, especially in our position. I'm looking forward to the playoffs.

@aparch: tLodge bar keeps a bottle of Blanton's in reserve for particularly painful losses. Put it on my tab, barkeep.

The original Richfield rink is a classic, one of my all-time favorites.

Good vibes your way! I thought that so fast last night and then started to laugh. Lil could not figure out why. I am indoctrinated. I can't remember the last time I saw them play or even knew anything about them except sux.

Here's your "what it's like to coach mites" story for today. At yesterday's jamboree -- in the semi-famous Richfield Ice Arena -- near the end of the game the other team gets breakaway #175. Two of our guys actually hustle back and intercept the puck carrier. The kid with the puck sees he's got no play, and just flips it towards the net. It hits our first defenseman's stick, caroms off the second defenseman's skate, and goes right between our goalie's pads for a goal.

Being the good and positive coach I am, I want to make sure the kids know what went right. This is my Teaching Moment! So I say to the bench, "You know, that's how it goes sometimes. Did you see how our two guys hustled back? That was great skating. But somehow it bounces off everybody and goes in. That's gonna happen sometim --" Kid on the bench interrupts: "I'm thirsty."

Me too, kid. Me too.
