Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

I haven't heard of any of these singer people you are all talking about.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

I especially liked that he told everyone to get off their rich arses and enjoy themselves :p Otherwise, the Bruno Mars performance seemed like The Temptations meets Michael Jackson, in a good way, so no worries about losing your street cred.
He sounds alot like Micheal Jackson

Old or Young, I wouldn't expect a hick to know anything about pop culture;)I'll bet you know Jason Aldean and his cowboy hat pulled over his eyes

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

Aren't you supposed to be asleep at your desk? :p
I ran errands today, called in to work dead. The errands included starting the ball rolling on possibly refinancing my mortgage to a lower rate. We'll see how/if the numbers work for a refi. I have a little under $80K left on the thing and about 23.5 years left on my current mortgage. The usual refinancing fees might wipe out any potential savings because of the low-ish principal remaining.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

Watching the Grammys last night,If you've never even heard of Adele or Bruno Mars, does that mean you're old?

I actually like the performance of Bruno Mars, not sure what that means
I've never heard heard Bruno Mars perform, but I have heard of him.

I have both of Adele's albums even though it's not music I generally like. She's got talent. Someone sent me a facebook link to to her accepted for Song of the Year, and the woman's speaking voice sounds not at all like her singing voice. The difference is quite remarkable, really. I expected it to be somewhat husky, much like she's apparently built, and instead she had something of a British street cackle happening. I half expected her to call someone "guv'nah."

I saw her interview on 60 minutes, when you hear her talk their is no way you'd think she could sing like that. She definitely has a set of pipes.

Jason Aldean is OK, I like most of the songs he sings quite a bit, but he doesn't write anything himself, which kinda bugs me. I prefer Eric Church who writes nearly every song himself. Plug, Jason Aldean has those stupid queer looking earings.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

Bon Iver. No clue who or what. I will have to check it out later.

The Mau thingamajig no clue whatsoever...........

During a couple Grammy performances I looked at Mrs. g and said "I don't get it.". Cripes I am getting old. :(

Foo Fighters rocked. (one of my favorite bands)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

Dang you people. I don't even have my last 1099 yet! (due date for it is February 15th, and of course they're going to wait until the last second to give it to me)

QFT. I am missing at least two.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

We got us a weirdo in the College Hockey Video Game thread.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

Glad to hear some of you enjoyed Bruno Mars. I saw him in concert and thought he was great. He has a lot of stage presence and charisma. Wish I saw his performance last night.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

Oh, and I'm in my seat at the Garden, stressing out. Both from work and from worrying about tonight's game. Not sure what table I'll be drinking at tonight, just that I'll defnitely be needing one. Or two.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

As I will have the *hockey table all to myself tonight, I would like a shot to go along with my martinis. BU gives up its first shg all seasn. In the ****ing Beanpot Final. Against BC. I am thisclose to leaving now.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

So, I offered to make any dessert FM wanted for Valentine's Day dinner. He would pick the **** 7 Layer Jello that appears to take 30 minutes per layer and has to chill overnight. Lesson learned, Diva, you fcuking fool.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

I've heard of all those except that Iver guy. I haven't actually HEARD deadmau5 or Skryllex. I youtubed Skryllex last night, and it sounded like a dialup-connection from the early '90s. Not kidding. Pure crap.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

We got ourselves a Pot of Beans going on in Boston. Everyone's excited right?

Whoops. Think I'll try over here.

Sheesh! (Lots of stress in here!) OK, well, 'diva, just guessing here, but he may have been speaking in code. And Scarlet, on radio they make it sound relatively even.

Also, candlesticks always make a nice gift, maybe we could find out where they're registered. OK, let's get two!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

Dave, radio is wrong. Terriers on the power play. Crossing fingers they a) don't give up another shortie and b) maybe win a face off and c) attempt a shot. I have no hope of any of these things.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 144: (Lack of) Winter Wonderland

Well, no shortie, but very close, no faceoff win nor shots on goal. Two outta three!
