Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 141: We Didn't Start The (* Hockey Table On) Fire

Howdy Lodge. Happy Thursday. Hoping to head out post work for at least one drink. Waiting to hear from my friend here at work. Her husband flies home tonight after having been away for quite some time (talk about a cool job - he designs shoes for Puma, he's been in Vietnam for the past three weeks at the plant). Anyway, he's due to fly in about 7-ish I think. She feels we can leave at 5pm, have one (or two) and by the time he lands and gets through customs and cabs it home, she'll be there.

Tomorrow is our department wide holiday celebration. We're all going to the Pine Street Inn which is a homeless shelter. We're all going to volunteer there till about noon, then we're all going to lunch. And then I think we can go home. Which will be awesome.

Good Morning Lodge.

Went to PT before work this morning. Nothing earth shattering. Just got 5 exercises to use to try and avoid surgery on my left shoulder to match the right one. And to do a little tune up on the right shoulder which has been giving me some twinges lately.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 141: We Didn't Start The (* Hockey Table On) Fire

Hi Lodge.

My manager is complaining about the sick kids at daycare with his son and how their germs get everywhere. His son brings home a cold and now he has it (bad..can barely talk). It seems wrong to complain about the daycare when he is bringing his germs to work to infect all of us.

In a related topic, I have an interview next week and don't want to waste a vacation day on it (in case I don't get the job). Since bf and most of my coworkers are at least somewhat sick, the opportunity to call in sick is very tempting. The my stupid sense of right and wrong kicks in. What would you Lodgers do? (And yes, I realize that asking tLodge for morale advice is foolish)

Take the vacation day, only use sick days when you're actually sick.

I would agree with bbdl, if put in the same situation. It would suck if you waste the vacation day, but it could greatly benefit you in the long run if something were to get out to coworkers/superiors

Keeping you all on hold for a potential refill request. Will let you know if needed.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 141: We Didn't Start The (* Hockey Table On) Fire

ooooh, time to go to the BU thread and see what kind of trouble Scarlet is getting into!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 141: We Didn't Start The (* Hockey Table On) Fire

(Alex Hudson was dismissed from UNO today according to the CHN twitter account). Maybe some of the area clowns will go spew BS over on that thread for you BU people.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 141: We Didn't Start The (* Hockey Table On) Fire

Oh, and by the way, this team is the inverse of the Tech ratio :D

They're all lesbians?

Ah, birth control!

Yep... we're thinking of borrowing our friends' dog too, in hopes that they'll just wear each other out. :D

 I hope that you are not meeting a certain former BU player.

For his sake! ;)

Morning (barely), Lodge. I love my job, I just wish there were more hours of it. :o

Also, bread pudding today for dinner dessert.

I've always found the ratio argument a complete cop-out. If you subtract all of the guys that girls see as un****able because they don't shower and they play video games all day and night, the ratio is probably close to 50/50.

Not being familiar with the women at MTU, but having observed those at RPI long ago, I would think that there is also a considerable portion of them who are unsuitable for similar reasons, thus keeping the ratio fairly constant.

(Actually the joke when I was at RPI was that most of the coeds would flunk a chromosome test.)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 141: We Didn't Start The (* Hockey Table On) Fire

He drinks Sake? I wasn't referring to Herb Wakabayashi. ;)

(Sorry)

Great comeback and former player reference Ralph. +1

The only former BU player I've seen there is Mike Eruzione. Cue mookie's name dropper comment. :)

The bad part is that I remember watching the Pinball line at BU.

Here goes flight 1, hopefully it beats the scheduled time by, oh 20 minutes would be REALLY nice, but I'd be happy with 10 minutes.

There are some that would fall into that same group, but I think the guys far outnumber the girls among the nerdy, video game playing, non-showering crowd.

bbdl is partially right - there are a large number of guys who theoretically have no chance - but so is Ralph. There's a reason we have the Tech standards. :o

I wanted to call a radio show I listen to to bring up "Tech hot" this morning. They were doing a bit about how people rate themselves on a 1-10 scale, and found that Miami is the city that rates themselves highest, and Detroit rates theirselves with some of the lowest scores. So the radio hosts were saying how Miami actually has an attractive population. One host said, "in Miami I might be unattractive, but in Detroit I'm not bad"
That's what made me think of Tech hot

Crap. No one to drink with. My firend told me her husband's flight gets in at 4pm.
