Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

Morning.

I am glad I have 5 days off starting Wednesday. I just wish I didn't have to use up 4 of them on visiting family. Not because I don't like my family, but because I am lazy and want to stay home! :D

Your name isn't Brent is it? Would you walk 1.5 blocks for your morning beverage?

Good morning, Lodge! Another round of cayenne chocolate cookies have been baked, I'm on my fourth cup of coffee, and all is well in my world (for now).

Going back to normal.

Back?

You know I like the concept of mass transit. Back when I lived in the SF Bay area I rode it all the time and enjoyed it. Today, even though it isn't real bad weather yet, it was really nice to only walk the 15 feet from my back door to my detached garage, get in the car, drive to my underground ramp, take the elevator to the skyway level and walk to my office without going outside. I ddn't need to worry about the slush, ice, slightly cold air, etc. :) In February I'm sure I'll appreciate it even more. I wish my garage was attached.

Why haven't you got a quote on making it 'attached' yet? :D

Well, to do it right, it's a huge frikken addition and may destroy two burr oaks about 70+ years old. I've thought a lot about it and may attemp a design using screw piles to save the trees. If I take down the current garage, I will put a two story addition on with a family room and second upstairs bathroom. The kitchen will expand and a mud room will go in between the garage and house. I'd guess over $100K anyway. We are about to pay off our current mortgage in December and don't look forward to going back into debt.

Good morning Lodge.

Getting ready to head to St. Cloud for meetings.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 140: The Brave Days of Old

Wait, I missed the moving thing- what are you doing?
Sounds like the authorities finally figured out your impersonating a perfesser was a scam and you've been extended an invitation to do eight to ten in maximum security at Tinker AFB. Better watch Shawshank Redemption a time or two to see how your life's gonna change on a daily basis. Say hi to the warden.
Good morning, Lodge!

As for moving, it looks like ASaaG's smarter than the usual quality of posts would indicate! I've been teaching here at the AF Academy since Jan 2010, and next month my two-year assignment is up, so I'll be moving on. We're headed back to Oklahoma City which, while we have great friends there, has no D-I hockey!

Light week this week: no classes and Thurs-Fri off. Life remains good!

Productive day here, got an auto insurance quote and then did trim the dogs toenails. Soon I'll need to get a shower and head on into work.

OKC has no division 1 hockey programs? You mean to tell me Rose State College doesn't play D-1 hockey? Shocking. Just shocking. And congrats on getting time off for good behavior and being sprung from the zoo. Go Air Force! Beat the Rams!

9 geese, 16 ducks (14 mallards, 2 pintails)
Weather was horrible, which usually makes for good hunting. I do however, question whether I still have a fire in my belly to endure great discomfort in order to pursue waterfowl.
/getting too old?
