Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

Good evening Lodge.

Lwb.......best of luck to your dad.

I am very disgusted by a few of the headlines in the media this week. W T F is wrong with people? Once all the facts come out.........heads should roll. Literally.

Morning Lodge.

Jr's MRI was fine.
That is good news!

The ones licked and stuck to his a**.
Hey what happened to the Sheizt avitar?

Good Evening, Lodge!

My mom texted me to call her after work. She never says that, so I called her during my break. I find out that my dad is being admitted into the hospital. They are hoping that nature takes it course, but he might need surgery. :(
:( Prayers for you all!

Just returned from an ACHA D-1 game. That's........an interesting style of hockey. Much more physical than what I'm used to seeing.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 139: The Halloween Edition

Prayers for your dad, LwB.

We had a full department-wide meeting today. At this meeting last year, I was really upset as I felt pretty slighted when my boss' boss presented and talked about all the stuff that we (our group) were all doing, and called out everyone but me, and when he talked about the biggest thing I worked on that year, he mentioned how a designer helped "us" out with that. I actually went to the ladies room and cried for a few minutes. I was really upset. Then I had the whole process with my boss over the next few months where she went to bat for me and got me my promotion. She is very supportive and tells me all the time how she couldn't do her job without me, etc. Not to mention, I've been able to work on some really cool stuff this year and that will continue in 2012. So, she and her boss are presenting again. Earlier in this week she sends me and this other girl on our team a request for graphics for things we worked on for the presentation today. I sent her something from my two that she requested. The other girl sent a PowerPoint deck that she already had developed a while back. And it happened again today. NONE of the stuff I worked on was mentioned. They only time I was referenced in either his or her presentation was when they were talking about the org chart. I went up to one of my friends in the department after it was over and said "You happen to notice anything missing from their presentation?" and she said "Everything you work on?" My boss is out tomorrow so Monday I'm going to talk to her. I'm not going to be defensive or anything but I'm going to ask her if she never got my email as I was curious as to why two of the big projects I worked on were not included in her or his presentation.

My employer pulls crap like that too. I initiated a study a couple weeks ago because I questioned the premise behind one of our long-standing policies. The study I did proved the premise to be completely wrong, so the policy was changed last week. The all-lab email that was sent out announcing the change in our policy simply said "a study was done" and made no mention of me whatsoever. The take-home message is that management is populated by complete ***holes, and if you don't happen to be on their short list of favorites, they will never publicly credit you for anything.

Yep. In my area in the main building (at the time) I switched some things around, it worked, so I presented it to our "Efficiency Associate" (the title was something like that; totally BS position, but he IS on "our" side). That was during the F5/F4 stretch so I had a lot of vacation. I come back, and things were different, but not like I presented. It was 90% of what I created, though. Was promised a committee to make it all official, etc, and then, nope, Boss Does What He Wants.

However, since I'm rarely at the main building anymore, I have to admit, I don't care as much. Addition by subtraction, I suppose. But still.....I MADE that sh* work.
