Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Apparently 2 of my dad's more, um, outspoken friends are leaving town today, so, in their words they "have an alibi in case anything happens, because everyone knows we'd be at the top of the list". :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

double post!

Brent, MNS and I talke briefly about all going to the State Fair for a day this year. We would need to make it a weekend, to accomodate as many work schedules as possible, and we quickly picked Saturday, the 27th, which is the first Saturday of the fair. It seemed like it would work, at the time. If anyone else is interested in going/meeting up, we should be able to arrange it. I'm also going to be there on the 31st and the 3rd for sure, and possibly more days.

I am going on both Fridays of the fair. I take them off from work each year. But I could squeeze in a 3rd trip for sure.

One of these years I need to get down to Texas for their state fair. It runs the entire month of October.

Darn, I cant go until at least Sept 3...I'll probably end up going 9/4.

SG: I'd probably be up for going again, if you're looking for someone to go. I don't know what my plans are for Labor Day weekend yet, except for we're planning on going to TK's on Sunday night because mel and HN will be in town and they were interested in going.

We wanted to make it a weekend, because not all of us can afford to take a Friday off for the the fair.

Makes sense.

I enjoy getting paid to drink beer and eat unhealthly foods all day. :D

Seperately, I think I will be confirming my trip to LV on Thursday. Stay tuned on that.

Well, I am taking vacation on Thursday and Friday before Labor Day weekend, so i'll be doing some drinking and unhealthy eating while getting paid also. :p

Sounds good on Vegas. I'm spending a lot of money lately (damm drunken purchase of Wild season tickets!) but I can still spring for a trip to Vegas. I'll have time to accumulate spending money between now and then.

We are going on the first Thursday, 8/25. I'm hoping it's the least crowded day. Maybe it'll rain, that always keeps the crowds down.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Work looks to continue my whirlwind tour of every goddamm corner of this country this week, as it now looks like I will have to fly to Nashville from Green Bay, through Detroilet on Thursday morning to troubleshoot an engine about an hour and a half north of Nashville, right on the Kentucky border. I should know by the end of the day if I'm going for sure or not.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Going to watch crappy kid hockey tonight.

Jr is playing in a spring/fall league. Pretty low level and they are a low level team. Their team is all C and B2 players and all will be first year bantams. As they play teams with some B1 and A players and second years, our guys get their butts kicked. Last fall when they were second year peewees they did a lot of the kicking of butts. But it's hockey and jr gets to play against some of the kids he'll face when the sesaon starts. Not like the scores here matter (altough jr did get the one goal his team scored in their last trouncing). Also, I suspect some of these teams practice - ours does not, just show up and play, if we're short handed, call some friends. Almost pond hockey.

Morning!

Post #1974, the year I was born. Good for me, not so good for the rest of you. :D

My post this morning was also the same number as the year I was born. 1971.

Be sure to take pictures of UMD's trophies at the fair. Rumor has it that both of the one's they collected last year should be there in one of the buildings I believe.

And washes the ones that likely need it anyways. ;)

Evening all, just killing time till my next appointment shows up, and I think she just walked in.... nope, Chris's client.....

Oh, and something of note, two straight reps from people not named Ralph. Odd....
oh, and gmann, what exactly did I ask you about your BIL??

I would like to get involved with a hockey league again. I am not interested in city league as there are too many guys who who think they still have a shot at the NHL. The last time I played league I got hit going into the corner. Back in the day I wouldn't have minded the physical play but 1) I wasn't ready for the hit nor should I have been 2) I have to get up and work the next day. Chippy play is standard in the league in my town.

Old timers/fat guy league is a good group of guys. However, they play at 10PM.

Little g is scheduled to start MN miracle league hockey this fall. I will be pushing him around the ice on a chair. All the rest of those handicapped b astards better be ready for us. :D

Don't care enough to take my cell phone out of pocket, if I do happen to mistakenly wander in to the wrong building.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Is Chickens around to start the new pole at 2K??

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

They would be at the University of Minnesota building on Dan Patch Ave. Duluth has its own booth inside, and certain times on the stage reserved.

Edit: Saturday the 27th from 11 to noon, the football and hockey trophies will be at the stage with alumni players.
