Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Lots of work mojo going on in teh Lodge! Congrats, and keep those successes coming.

TMJ blows. I don't have it, but I know a lot of people that have or do. Interestingly, every single one played/plays the clarinet. Must have something to do with the embouchure.

There's a lot of potential in that comment, but, being a clarinetist myself, there's too much danger of -- well, of blowback. :p

I don't go every week. I'm not bbdl. And his name is Mohammed Ali. No, not making that up. :p

I knew a guy in college whose last name was Mohomedally, pronounced the same way. Poor guy, every time he's introduced himself his whole life people go, "What? Really?"

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Congrats 'diva and dx. That's great news. I have to type up my mid-year review today. Boss is on vacation this week, I'm on vacation next week. Need to get it done before I leave. We've already had a meeting about it. She wants me to start taking more of a leadership role with the others on our team given that I'm a grade level higher than the others. She says it's another step in my development. I really don't want to be a manager. That said, if this is something I can do to help lighten her work load, I do't mind doing it. But she's going to have to tell the others that I'm going to be scheduling a bi-weekly with them. I don't feel comfortable taking that on without her. Not sure how the others would react.

To the contrary, I would handle the announcement yourself. They're less likely to take it seriously if your boss is the one to tell them, and she's likely to appreciate you showing some leadership from the get-go.

Morning Lodge!

Thanks for the congrats, all!

Congrats to you as well, dx! That's awesome!

Day off today, and it's beautiful outside. The wind is coming from a safe direction, too, so I think there's a spot out on Park Point calling my name.

Renewed my ID today in under 15 minutes. I figured it was going to be a zoo at the Government Center. But there was no one there.

I'm with Fade here. They want you to be more of a leader. Leaders step up to the plate and get shibby done. If you don't, you'll just end up being a horrible boss that your underlings will hate you because you're not a direct leader, maybe something of a Brownnoser perhaps??

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

I just noticed that bigmrg sent me rep about a week ago about doing the cha cha. I didn't think that he was that kind of dancer.

I need 17 more flight segments by the end of the year to jump up to the next SkyMiles level. When I add up the trips I'll have to take, I'm going to get pretty close. I might have to make a quick weekend trip somewhere in December to get enough. :p

I wouldn't worry about it...I know NWA bumped me up without actually getting to the right number of segments.

CC to Brent: We need to cancel our reservations at Chez Rube for Friday night. We're just not going to make it in time. Stupid Chrysler. :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

The what?

'diva, I was bored with that game after 5 minutes. :p

I'm not thrilled with the game itself either, I'm just happy that the preseason is underway. Preseason leads to season, and that leads to the start of HOCKEY.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Twitch is in angry mode right now.

So the credit union that handles my credit card decided to switch providers just as I was getting moved into my new condo. (It's an old credit card I've had through my family for years, which I'd like to keep because it gives me a great APR and it's my oldest line of credit. I keep $5 in the credit union bank account associated with it just so I can have the card. It's that good.)

This required them to send me a new card. So naturally, the card got sent to my old address, sent back, and I never got it. I call the credit union to explain what happened. They direct me to fax over a signed letter stating my new address, and to send me a new card at the new address. I do this.

Two weeks and some days later, nothing. (It takes about a week for mail to get from the Lower 48 to me in Alaska.) I say "screw this" and call Visa themselves. They put me through to their guy who represents my credit union, I explain what has happened thus far, and he calls the old one lost and gets a new card rushed to me.

It just arrived today. Except for one small issue.

IT'S MY FATHER'S CARD. Number and all. The envelope was even addressed to HIM, not me.

Meanwhile, I have been without a credit card for a month now.

The credit union in question is about to get a VERY irate phone call on Friday, and lose 4 customers they've had for literally decades.

I had one of the worst days of my life since last fall. I am glad this day is almost over with.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

I am all packed up for the wedding weekend. I am guessing I won't get back here Saturday before the wedding so I'm briging everything I need with.

Oh, I have to go to Green Bay for 3 days next week, but its not as bad as it sounds, I get to go with the hottie new girl engineer from the group we work with most often on alternative fuel projects. :)

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. :( Dammit, I was really looking forward to hanging out outside of the wedding. :(

bbdl: bar is stocked, too. I did some shopping tonight. We may have to have a sipper before heading to the bar tomorrow. Plan on being here about 7:30.

And while preseason is horrible, hearing ESPN's NFL highlight music and seeing NFL football in general makes me happy. Only downside: our draft will be on a Sunday NIGHT. A certain tv show better be found online the next day.
