Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Not so good afternoon here at work.

One of my co-workers was killed in a car accident this morning on his way in. He was good friend of mine here at work. I really miss him. He left behind a wife and a son. Thoughts are much appreciated.

At the hotel room, finally. I've been collecting data all day, luckily it was very nice weather today, so it wasn't miserable. Now I have to work on sorting through all of the data that I took and see if I can figure out why this **** engine is having problems. I also need to figure out if this place has a decent steakhouse.

If you are in ATL, what part are you staying in, I could maybe come up with a recommendation on where to eat.

eta: Also, it looks like TI wants to comp me a room in Vegas as long as I book before 1/9/12. So maybe I do want to go for new years. ;)

No, not in ATL anymore. I'm in some BFE town about an hour and a half north-northwest of ATL. Its on the edge of the mountains. Actually, the views of the mountains from here are pretty awesome, granted not the Rockies, but still a fairly significant mountain range in the Appalachians. This place has a fairly high population and a college, so I should be able to find some decent food.

The NYE plan is a good one. I'm still looking for 1-3 others that will say yes for sure, then I would consider booking ASAP. I think that the Flashy and 'diva combo should consider it. :D

NW? You are practically to Chattanooga. Which is a great town and has good food.

Anyways, I am sure I can book a room now even if people aren't sure they want to go yet. Can always just cancel it. Why is the 1st on a Sunday? ugh. Hate wasting that extra PTO day.

Oops, I said west, I meant east. The town is North-Northeast of Atlanta. Right on the border of the Chattahoochee Nat'l Forrest.

We should figure out who is interested for Vegas, since it is getting closer, and which days people would be interested in going.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

This steakhouse puts fried potatoes on their house salad! And I have a horseradish crusted rivets on the way, mmmmm.

Actually this place isn't even close to redneck/Appalachian like I expected. It is much more tourist trap with very nice restaurants and antique shops everywhere, with the outskirts of town being expensive subdivisions with HUGE houses and high end golf courses and vineyards.

Another note: my waitress has a hot accent.

You're in Atlanta, not Morgantown.

Its not Atlanta, I'm probably closer to the Tennessee-South Carolina-Georgia border than Atlanta. It is definitely up in the hills. The mountains are on the horizon, so I drove towards them before dinner, I drove for 15 minutes and my ears popped 3 times, there was some serious elevation change. Up in the hills further it looked just like you see im the movies, except it was mansions, golf courses, and vineyards.
