Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Mornin' everyone! I think I'm gonna go for a bike ride prior to my workout..just for ralph!:p

I cancelled today's bike ride and will go tomorrow instead. They have scheduled a water shutoff today from 9 to 3. The last time this happened the water wasn't back on until 5. Getting back home and not being able to shower isn't fun.

There is a misconstruction in this building as the apartments don't have their own shutoff valves.

Morning!

Hitting the Twins day game today. Woo baseball, beer, and half days of work.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

'Morning, Lodge.
We're having a Triathlon Gear clinic for the staff of our store this morning. This ought to be interesting...

Good morning Lodge! Hot one here today in 617ville. Heading to a golf tournament today in Plymouth (Pinehills, for mookie). And it's for work!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Good morning, lodge. Being back at work for the first time in 5-6 days is rough.

diva: I looked at the dates of the 2 concerts that you asked about last weekend. Zac Brown Band is July 23rd, and Eli Young Band July 29th.

Gotcha. Can't make ZBB :( but Eli Young could work as I took that day off of work and don't have to be in until noon on Saturday. How soon do you need a definite?

Back from the Tri clinic--it was cut short because Lake Superior is still PAINFULLY cold and no one could handle being in the water for more than about 45 seconds. Then all my hoser co-workers took off together for breakfast... thanks for the invite, shi*heads.

As soon as possible would be best, but as long as I know sometime the week before the show, that should be fine. Let me know what your plan would be for the day, I have vacation that I will need to use before I start getting very busy at the end of the year, so I could possibly take off the afternoon if there is anything else going on.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Interesting last 10 or so hours. Around midnight my wife let the dog out. Soon after we got a strong smell of skunk! Yup, the dog took a direct hit in the chest (luckily for her nothing in the face). My wife immediately mixed up some hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dish detergent and started bathing the dog. This was probably around 12:30-ish.

Needless to say the entire house still wreaked this morning so we bathed the dog again. She is finally starting to smell normal but the house... that's another story. We don't think the dog got on any of the furniture and she slept on the floor in the bedroom on an old comforter. It and all the towels are outside airing out (probably destined for the trash). I've got 2 big fans ventilating the house and I'm hoping for the best. When my wife gets home after 12 she's gonna wash the floors downstairs and then figure out what to do around where the dog slept.

Exactly how I wanted to spend my day off! :(

**** you very much. :p

(I also bike and did 100 miles saturday - first century ride!)
BUT, you do evening rides.;) it's sort of sad I got up so early just because Ralph always does to say I've done it.:p rode 25 miles. That's not shabby for a guy who doesn't do much biking!

It's gonna be a perfect lake day today..and I'm two hours from the cabin..awesome.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Pfffft. All my rides are morning rides (evening for me, morning for the rest of you dip****s). :p

25 miles ain't bad. I did that yesterday after taking a couple days off post-Century to let my legs recover.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

I doubt I've ridden 25 miles on a bike in my entire life. Haven't ridden one since I was 7 years old.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Good morning, all! Long time no Lodge for me with a very busy June. July should be more summer-ishly relaxing.

I just got back from two weeks at Northwestern University, a nice campus with an Einstein Bros. within walking distance.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

Morning, Lodge. Haven't done a 25 mile ride in at least a few years, and nothing longer than a 50 mile ride ever. My current bike isn't exactly set up for it either.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 137: Counting the long summer days

What do you mean by that? No water bottle cage? ****ty seat? Horribly maintained?

Nah - my folks convinced me to get some oversized hybrid monstrosity with shocks, a gel seat and a weird bent frame. Never liked the bike, it's more suited for trundling around Geezer Springs, Florida than it is for commuting or long-distance riding.

That, and I'm not in shape either. :o
