When I had my surgery, I was told to avoid, like goldy said, anything that acts as a blood thinner. This includes all pain killers that are listed as NSAID class drugs, including ibuprofen. Tylenol (acetaminophen is the generic drug) is usually allowed as it is not an NSAID.
