This thread title's written for a real square.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #13^2: Independence!

I've been killing time today, because I don't want to dig into a big project with vacation looming.

So I have started my research for Fantasy College Hockey next season. Very interesting result so far....out of the first 3 rounds (24 players, all forwards for this example as I haven't gone deeper than that), the league with the most players in that top 3 rounds: Atlantic Hockey. (AH-7, HE-5, BM-3, HM-3, EC-3, WC-3)

Speaking of polls....didn't the Pole just clear another step toward canonization?

Yes, he did. I think he's just about there now.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #13^2: Independence!

Sooooo....

Heading from offsite to the main building today at 4:05pm (1.7 miles, .7 miles to the only main intersection). I see a backup, normal for that time of day, I figure it'd take 3 stoplights to cross. 20 minutes pass, I've gotten halfway closer to the intersection. I then notice our stoplight isn't changing at all. Um, wha?

Apparently, an ambulance went through the intersection with lights/sirens a bit earlier, triggering the strobes and changing the lights. Except they never reverted back to the normal cycle. My stoplight remained red. Constantly. So people had to cross/turn whenever there was a gap in traffic. It was like friggin' Frogger. I arrived at the main building at 4:50. Bosses didn't know what was going on (why was I late). I told them, and then one of our drivers happened to show up and confirm the story.

No, I couldn't turn around from the left lane (wasn't in it), and no, there were no alt-routes to take, given the lane I was in. I was stuck. No harm no foul on my part, it was just incredibly frustrating.

But I did find out I don't have to work on Fri (running a skeleton crew) so yay.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #13^2: Independence!

I have to work at 10 PM July 4, so there went any plans for drinking/having fun that night.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #13^2: Independence!

I hope so.

I don't know PT/FT rules anymore, nor do I know MI's state rules. In MN, I believe it's only FT employees that get time/half for holiday pay, but I do believe they do get it for the full shift, not just the hours worked on that holiday.

Holiday pay rates are not dictated by the state here.

Huh. Learn something new every day. Target pays out (worked for them in college), my old job paid out (family-owned Inc), and my current company (big corporation) pays out. Figured it was state law or something.
