Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 123: Our polls are going down the tubes
I was on MSN checking my Hotmail and clicked on a some political link. Next think I know the screen is frozen and Java 6 is acting like it's loading. I got off there, went out again and the pop-ups started left and right. Then I got a "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services needs to close" message. Shortly after that the blue bar at the bottom of the screen turned grey, and the outlines for Excel and Word changed and looked like old designs. I've got CCleaner at home here, and it does the job here, so I downloaded that at the office today. That ran fine, but after I restarted the machine, it was slower than hell to reload, and sometimes froze after I tried to login. It's Windows XP with SP3.
I've Googled it about 10 times, and if I didn't fix it today, I'm down to upgrading the HP drivers, and I'm skeptical about that solution, at best.
If I can get into it tomorrow I'm defragging the **** thing. It can't hurt.
