Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 121: How will you spend your days until the season starts?

There's a time and place for wine. I was never a fan at all until somewhat recently, and still my tastes are pretty narrow. Riesling is an excellent variety, one often overlooked. Goes great with fish/seafood.

However, I'm still a whisk(e)y man.

I've tried stuff from Italy, France, and many of the American varieties, and nothing. Few cheap ones, too, for the record. Blecch.

No problem with the people who like wine, but not for me.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 121: How will you spend your days until the season starts?

I've only had a handful of wines I've actually like as well.

A buddy and I are thinking about doing some home beer brewing and some distilling since we're both engineers (I'm a chemical engineer so I know a thing or two about distillation :) ). Plus he has a bomb shelter in his basement, seriously, so we don't have to worry about anything going catastrophically wrong with the distilling.

other than it getting all over the walls there.

Have you tried any non-grape wines, like blackberry, blueberry, peach, strawberry...etc? These are the ones that I want to make. Anyone, except for ctf, can go buy a bottle of grape wine, I think it would be more interesting to make the other kinds.

Not to my recollection. And I haven't worn any skirts, either, but apparently to you that IS either here or there. :p

But you still write checks. Wine is far to sophisticated a drink for you.

And yet I enjoy the lambics and chimays. And a good cigar. And good Scotch.

So, um, box.;)

Dude, he'll totally eat your box.

I mean... What?

Aside - Those of you still curious: All proceeds well.

Of course it does. There was never any doubt.

In other news, I'm going to play a game of global thermonuclear war with my employer. Right now, things are about to go to DEFCON 4, and they're about to find out I've hacked into their system.

Good Morning to the rest of tLodge! :)

Good morning, Lodge. Coffee's on, plus I'm making oatmeal for breakfast.

Man up. A flu shot will just give you a 6 month cold.

And bbdl: you man up, too. Unless you're married, you don't drink wine. Period. Now, if you made some moonshine...
When Mr and I were in France for his brother's wedding (wife is French) we had 'Mirabelle' cross between a moonshine and wine made out of a cherry like fruit. Yipes. Good and made me think I could speak French too.:o

I love wine but it does not love me. The drier the better. I miss wine :(

Good morning boys.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! friday is here.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 121: How will you spend your days until the season starts?

It's getting harder and harder to wake up now that I can't see the sun anymore... I think I'm rejecting the premise that human's are supposed to wake up before the sun. (I'm looking at you MEUSA and Ralph.)

80-90 mil being donated to PSU's development of D-1 hockey? I think they should set aside 1M for a Lodge branch in PA so we can go visit.
We may have one if I get into school there. Lakeside. :o
