Soooo, in the first 3.5 hours of tonight's RA duty, how many lockouts have I had?

Kids need to learn to keep their keys with them at all times. 2 of them EASILY could have been prevented (not a self-locking door, so you physically have to lock it from outside your room to lock it (or in this case, leave your key so your roommate locks you out). The self-locking doors got blown shut by the wind draft coming through the room... a little more understandable, but still could be prevented. Then we had a fire drill/alarm go off in hour 4. This better be a quiet night from here on.

He called my Momma a Streetwalker!!! At least have some class when you make a your mom's a hooker joke. Thousand a night at the casino kind is a lot better than being called a Streetwalker.

I spoke with a 16-year-old the other day, just as she and her family were about to hit the road for a 15-hour trip. Asking her what she brought to read, she informed me that she had her iPod. I was surprised at this. Common though it may be, it is not the type of habit to encourage!

Doing my part to encourage future citizens and leaders to think, I plan a pop quiz for my classes today. Six questions:
1. Who is the President?
2. Who is the Vice President?
3. Who is the Secretary of State?
4. Who is your congressman?
5. Who are your two senators?
6. To which news source (print or online) do you plan to subscribe, and why?

I'll let you guys know the results next week.

7. (Extra Credit) How many days remain until the start of the college hockey season?
