Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 117: It's The Dog Days of Summer

I'm watching hockey this weekend :p :p :p

Gotta make sure I get up at a normal time... the Caps prospect scrimmage starts at 10.

If you see any guys named Baker, Kattelus, Cousens, or Seigo, please tell them that they aren't good enough to sign a contract yet and should spend more time in school. ;)

Just had a black bear make its way onto the hospital grounds. Cops had to chase it off :D

As a Michigan native, which is a pretty wild state itself, I've seen more wildlife in the city of Anchorage than I have in pretty much my entire life in Michigan.

I would think you playing the Ditty on a Vuvuzela would be enough to drive it away. ;)

Driving up to Grand Rapids tonight to see an old friend. Probably should start packing up for it.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 117: It's The Dog Days of Summer

So, I'm a pretty opinionated person, especially when it's a matter of something that I feel strongly about.
I love the high school I went to. Absolutely adore it. A whole lot of pride, etc. etc. Spent hundreds of hours with the marching band, and what not. So, this lady writes a letter to the editor of the Gazette (Houghton's paper) and says things like:

"From more respectful graduations with some decorum, better text book curriculum, (putting history back in history books) and God back into school culture - many things need improvement. Some schools choose another venue for graduation so that they can mention God - and all this just for a minority.

Where is common sense? And, where was the Calumet marching band at Pasty Fest. It takes effort, dedication and a sense of pride."

So, I'm going to be writing a letter back to this Sue lady to remind her that Calumet is the ONLY school in the area, possibly the UP that has a baccalaureate and that Calumet still is, and probably always will be, the Pride of the Keweenaw for marching bands.

*sigh* so much for a peaceful lunch break.

Shouldn't you be studying, instead of writing op-ed pieces that will be forgotten in a week? :)

Just remember that opinions are like arseholes - everyone has one and they all stink.

Eh, I haven't been doing much for the Lode, so I feel I should at least write something non-research related for once. :p

Good morning Lodge.

Just found out the in laws have invited themselves over and they are spending the night tonight.

Anyone in the Lodge have a couch I can crash on?

I can lend you a firearm if you'd prefer. Would you like a bazooka?

So am I a shady individual? Since I have spent like one day out of the month? And am sitting reserve next week in Denver as well? :D :D :D

yeah, I think you're much too young to be opinionated. You're 18 years old. Relax.

Don't dignify that drivel with a response. Everyone wants to think that their school is better than everyone else's, and that their school was so much better when they were there.

In other news, I'm starting to think a first aid kit would be a great investment.

I think that woman is completely right. There's a shocking lack of God in our every day lives.

Praise Jesus.

He's the one hiding in his ivory tower. He could come down and mingle with his people once in awhile.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 117: It's The Dog Days of Summer

I wouldn't say its even worthy of being on a shelf, but it is free, so I am not complaining. :p

OK. A client just gave me a variety pack of Leinenkugels. Does this make the "shelf" Mr. beer snob? ;)

To be fair, I did say I would drink the free beer. Even if it was crap.

But yeah Leine's is acceptable. :)
