I am rubber and you are glue. Anything you say bounces off me and sticks to you. :D

Since my promotion in January I have been swamped and swamped is probably an understatement. It's all good but it has taken me away from such things as USCHO, ttp planning and wearing the good old stars and stripes speedo. :)

Good morning Lodge.

And we are all grateful for that!

Congrats hockeyplayer. Good job getting out of that pesky final exam!

Good morning Lodge.

I can relate to that.

The "other Ralph Baer" is mentioned in the weekly newspaper where I work. So far three people have asked me about this.

I don't think I've ever had that cake. I've had a drink called Sex on the Beach and while enough of those could lead to sex on the beach, the drink didn't taste anything like sex on the beach, from what I recall. ;)
It's salty, sandy, with a hint of seaweed, smells like dead fish, and somehow, it feels like there's a rock digging into your back every time you take a sip.

News, or lack thereof, on the house buying front:
Still waiting on the house I really like. This short sale system is so convoluted, it is just annoying. I had my offer accepted by the owners about a month ago, then it got forwarded on to the bank for approval, since it is a short sale. Well, the bank is WaMu, which is huge, so they don't deal with realtors directly. The seller's realtor had to submit the offer to a lawyer who was contracted by WaMu to deal with houses in this area. Apparently this lawyer had no clue how to actually submit an offer to WaMu, as he has tried 3 times and has failed every time. Now it sounds like he has actually gotten the offer through to the bank, though at this point we don't know how many offers there are on the place, but we do know that there weren't any offers at the bank before mine. We're still optimistic, since I had a pretty high offer, and now it seems like the bank might actually have the offer. Hopefully I'll hear back within the next couple weeks that the bank has approved my offer. Then it would be on to inspections and getting final financing.

Good Morning Lodge and Happy Friday!

That is too much excitement for me. I need to get more coffee in my system.

bb_dl: That sucks.

But if I end up getting this place, we're going to have a huge party. :D
It is kinda tucked back into a small patch of woods, out of town a bit, fit pit in the back yard. We can all have a good time drinking around the fire the first Saturday night after I close, it will be awesome.

Well, look at it this way, I guess. You're just getting more time to build up a bigger down payment.

Please have this house party the first weekend of June. That is the next time I will be up in Minnesota. I will bring good Wisconsin beer. Unless the stars line up and I get a job. Then I have to stay back.:(

I would love to close before the first weekend of June, but I think that would be pretty quick. If my offer is approved by the bank within the next week it would probably work, any longer than that and I don't think I'll be able to close by the start of June. But I'll do my best! :p

hammer: heh, downpayment...I have enough for it if I use my savings, and sell my non-401k stock, but my parents told me that I can't do that (sell the stock) so my dad offered to pay the downpayment in exchange for me being a slave for weekends for about 10 years. yay farmwork. I think it is just their way to ensure that I stay involved in the farm. (though I do enjoy working on the farm in small doses)

Have a good weekend LODGEONIANS. If you have a team in the Stanley Cup playoffs good luck to it this weekend. My team, the Montreal Canadiens, has already done better than I expected it to do in that it won a game versus the Capitals. I don't think that trend will continue, but it least Montreal won't be swept four games to none.

If the weather coopeartes this weekend my wife and I hope to play our first round of golf this year. Whatever your plans are I hope you get to rest, recreate and enjoy some time with family, friends and loved ones. :)
