Texting is great when you are at a kid hockey game and need updates on the bigboy game or need to send updates on the lil game.

Also usefull to find out Lil got home safely without having to retrieve voicemail.

Or when you need your little brother to send you scores from the UNH game when he is at the game and you are in a noisy bar.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 106: My Team I Do Deeply Dig

I'm lucky my parents know how to make a phone call from their cell phones. Texting? No way at all. My dad still does not know how to retrieve voicemail messages from his cell.

2. Events like the F5, F4, other hockey road trips, where you're trying to get multiple groups/people to meet somewhere or whatever.

you mean like Techies that have no idea what the *k to do? :D

Made it back to Colorado. And I realized I have three more days off before I have to go back to the grind. That's *king awesome. :)

But in seriousness, I haven't heard back from that job I interviewed for two weeks ago...I get the feeling it's a no go. :(

Frankly I'm glad my parents are them... my father knows how to use it but he doesn't care because he's an introvert and so he doesn't talk to many people when he doesn't have to... besides the phone still works... his last text to me was when he sold my car in november.

My mother does so as needed and isn't a pain either.

I only expect my mother to use facebook but she doesn't have time or interest and she knows not to conscript my sister to help her. I've already told her that if she does use it she's not getting access to me.

Texting is great for our family as my daughter has some hearing loss.

Call them back and mention that you interviewed two weeks ago and are wondering how the selection process is going. At the very least, it shows you're actively interested in the job.

Send a thank you note.

If that fails, send coyote urine. At least they'll never forget you. :)

I guess you better go kill yourself, in all seriousness. After another semester of school when I can't find a job I will, too.

Yager, you haven't even graduated yet. Just wait until you live at home for eight months, then you can contemplate suicide. :p ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 106: My Team I Do Deeply Dig

So I got really good news over the weekend. Interlake Steamship, the company I "interned" with this summer, is looking to hire for both deck officers and engineers. I'm still a year from graduating, but I'm still planning to go talk with them tomorrow at our career fair and add to just my foot in the door, hopefully.

It isn't my number 1 preference for a job, but at this point, I'd take it if it was offered. I really want to go deep sea for a few years while I'm young, then ease into the Great Lakes before hopefully becoming a pilot back home in 10-15 years.

We need to have a tLodge party in Duluth the first time you pilot under the lift bridge - and for all know (insert joke here) you already have. Anyway, we'll be the ones waving at you. With one finger. :p :D

Seriously, best of luck!

Haha, I haven't piloted under it yet, but I have steered into and out of the harbor. Oh, and waved at all the people unknowingly inserting me into their many family albums;)

Thanks.

Texts are great for game updates, and I agree--events like this past weekend and other such road trips. My parents also have a bad habit of calling while I'm at school, so I'll pretend to rummage around in my bag and reply to them by that way. (I know, I'm just as bad as the students.)

I'm sure this would go over like a lead balloon, but you could just make them leave messages and tell them you'll get back to them ;)

Good luck! But Sloe Gin can go * himself. :D nah, good luck to him too

As for the regional there, go Vermont! Certain NMU fans burned some bridges when they decided to wear a Sioux jersey this weekend. I won't name any names, though. The shame they should feel after doing that is quite enough. ;) .
I thought she looked stella in that jersey. Best I've ever seen her look. :D

There's a chance nmu_27 and I will be making an appearance in St. Paul this weekend. I should know for sure by tomorrow or Tuesday. I'd love to meet up with some more posters if you're going to be there!
Won't be at the games since I have to work...I could meet up with people after I get done though.

Nothing but trouble there.
My parents learning how to text has not been as bad as I thought it would be.

CC to Sloe Gin: Where did you go to find out about the Jepp job? I'm trying to look for other things in the industry but can't find much other then A&P type stuff and pilot jobs.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 106: My Team I Do Deeply Dig

As for this weekend, I can almost guarantee Fri I'll sit at Chez Rube by myself, for a nice quiet night. Saturday, I'd be up for going to someone's place to watch the games, or if I have a new computer by then, having people over, possibly, only if there is nothing else. I'm kinda tired of hosting right now, given the past weekend.

NOTHING against my guests, but coordinating stuff is tiring. :o

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 106: My Team I Do Deeply Dig

I'll be at the regional, club 23.

Also going to the Sharks-Wild game tomorrow night. w00t!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 106: My Team I Do Deeply Dig

I don't know what is going on with me for the weekend. I know I have to go to a family thing at the Depot in Minneapolis (I have no ****ing clue why its at the Depot, lets just say that this is the very well-off relatives, meaning the relative putting it on is a higher-up at Exxon-Mobil, she is probably an evil person), my dad's great aunt or something like that is turning 95. I've been told that "I better be there". Other than that, I will probably have to go look at houses again, and I'm considering going to the X for the regional if NMU makes it. I will probably end up watching the games at home Saturday afternoon and night.

If guests are welcome on Sat, lemme know. I'll bring goodies.
