Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 106: My Team I Do Deeply Dig

Even though it's Nine A.M. on a Monday, any chance I can get a margarita from the Lodge bar? I'm nervous about this upcoming weekend, and still ill from Saturday night.

Same here. Well, minus the ill part, but I'm with you on the nervous part. NMU blows this and I'm going on a summer hiatus.

Oh god. My dad figured out how to text message.

Wait until they're on Facebook. Then the fun really starts.

The Gopher/Tech at home weekend is indeed Nov. 19th/20th. Plan accordingly.

I'll probably be there...

Must spread. Sorry.

I'm trying to think of something creative for the other guy, since Brent has decided that angry neg rep has to be creative now. :p

I just said something to the effect that his negging Shot made as much sense as me negging him for no reason.

I have to work tomorrow and I do not want to. Over my vacation my friend was trying to get me to come teach with her instead. I wish I was independently wealthy. Sigh.

Good morning Lodge.

It has been years since I have had a pop tart.

Home today with little g and we will be visting the Dr. ASAP. Last week both boys had colds. Yesterday little g developed a nasty deep cough and he is very congested. Due to his CP (he has very low muscle tone) even the common cold can turn into something nasty. :(
Good luck to little g! Hope he gets better soon!

The Lodge bar is always open.

My dad is on facebook; ever since he joined, he won't shut up about it...

Evening, Lodge. Just about to start dinner, which will be ratatouille, penne pasta, and perhaps some grilled fruit.

Nothing but trouble there.

If you have a neg rep to spare I'd appreciate your sending it in this direction. I posted a reminder or two to get people involved in making their selections for the Frozen Four and was sent a negative rep in return.

I could use a refill. Thank you.

I hope everyone's week is getting off to a productive start. :)
Done. :D

LIES! You've obviously never posted during the 30-45 minute server backup time around 5:30AM
Well, they do gotta hose down the gutter every so often or else the stink would really get nasty. ;)

Evening everybody. Studying some more here and making some Crock-pot tortellini. :D

Hooray for stress!!!
It will make Fort Wayne seem like a vacation day at the spa!

Re: Texting & parents.

My dad hates texting. In fact, he instituted a policy within his company that text messages were not a suitable method of communication within the organization, and refuses to pay for any texting plans on company cell phones. :D

There are times when I don't mind it, like when I want to fire off a quick message to them and don't want the run around of calling home.

No, only the insults I get. I don't care about anyone else. :p

Already have the days off. Found out today that I have that Thu/Fri/Mon off. Yep, I'm that good. :D

It's also good in crowded or loud areas where you may not be able to hear a phone call.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 106: My Team I Do Deeply Dig

Re: texting and parents: I don't mind that my mom texts or that my daughter texts. However, with my daughter I did have a rule, I wouldn't respond to any text that wasn't in plain English. This was for two reasons. I don't have the patience to translate the text shorthand and I wanted to make the point that when dealing with people of authority (parents, managers, teachers) that she should use plain & proper English. Now that she all grown up, I have give up on that rule. :) (and no, I don't use shorthand when texting)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 106: My Team I Do Deeply Dig

I hate texting with a passion, but it does help in two situations:

1. Sending "* hockey" texts, as I'm sure certain people wouldn't want to get a phone call of that.

2. Events like the F5, F4, other hockey road trips, where you're trying to get multiple groups/people to meet somewhere or whatever.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 106: My Team I Do Deeply Dig

Texting is great when you are at a kid hockey game and need updates on the bigboy game or need to send updates on the lil game.

Also usefull to find out Lil got home safely without having to retrieve voicemail.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 106: My Team I Do Deeply Dig

I think I somehow pulled a shoulder muscle, as I've had this motion-aggravated ache since early afternoon.

The first few minutes I thought it might be chest pains, but I'm way too young for that sh*t. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 106: My Team I Do Deeply Dig

Texts are great for game updates, and I agree--events like this past weekend and other such road trips. My parents also have a bad habit of calling while I'm at school, so I'll pretend to rummage around in my bag and reply to them by that way. (I know, I'm just as bad as the students.)

Yuck. :(
