Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 105: 2010 Assessment

I realize the two of you are joking but having worked for the state and for multiple private engineers firms I learned a lot more while working for the state. The reason is they suport training their employees while private engineering firms often don't support training because in the short term it costs money.

This post (and the training and the shovel) was paid for by the hard working people of MN. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 105: 2010 Assessment

My NMUBaseball website was hacked a few weeks back, and I finally had a chance to clean it up and get it back working right. Luckily the hacker was apparently lazy and only changed files named "index.*"

After updating all the index pages (thank you Archive.org for rescuing the Newbie guide main page), I just wanted to mention that just in time for the playoffs the USCHO Newbie Guide has a somewhat easier URL.

http://newbie.nmubaseball.net

it redirects to the hosted page at:
http://www.nmubaseball.net/uscho/newbie/

If you think n00b would be a more apt short url name, let me know. :D

You're putting up the new newbie guide just in time...
The guide is going to need a big update next year.

Thank you everybody.

The fact that I'm really happy about an offer that involves an 8% pay cut I think gives a pretty good indictation of how bad things are right now in terms of engineering options in the Twin Cities. It's been this way for the last 3 years which unfortunately was basically the same time the private engineering firm I worked for was bought out by a much larger engineering firm that looks at things a lot differently. For the last three years I've really had no option other then to work in other cities or risk being unemployed. And then I get only one day of notice before being put on unpaid status. When I asked about this the response I got was well you can collect unemployed. My thought thanks.

Unemployeement for me is a 60% pay cut and last time I checked my house payment and the rest of my bills aren't going to go down by 60% over night so it might be nice to get more then one day of notice so I can start planning and make adjustments.

Employers like employees to give atleast two weeks notices when leaving but I guess the opposite isn't important.

Oh well what's done is done. On the postive side sometimes it pays off to not except the first offer and try to get what you feel you deserve which is what happen with the state. :)
Congrats on the more long term employment CHA.

Ughhhh.

Kotyra wearing the bands for the SLU/Colgate series. A few years ago he basically let Colgate get away with murder while calling ticky-tack stuff on SLU in the playoffs @ Colgate. This better not happen or I will be going on a road trip tomorrow to murder somebody.

On the bright side, you'd be a hero to us all if you carried it out.

Back in Minnesota. Watching Edina-Apple Valley. Don't have much else to do tonight. Looking at more houses tomorrow.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 105: 2010 Assessment

Happy hockey table!

Kotyra called an SLU penalty with :56 seconds, SLU leading 2-1. However, SLU kept the puck down in the Colgate end and they couldn't get the goalie off. Suck it Kotyra.:D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 105: 2010 Assessment

Hey gmann,

Did your team get a case of Beaver Fever or something? Thanks to their inability to get it done in Western NY, the CHA will be batting .500 in the NCAA tourney selections. The only good thing here, is if UAH wins tomorrow night and snubs a CCHA team.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 105: 2010 Assessment

Well, a CCHA team is going to get stuck. I just hope it's not mine.

Congrats, CHA! :)

Congrats, CHA!

Woooo!!! SPRING BREAK!! WOO! :)
Yes, Spring Break!

I hope it's not mine either. So far, I'm sitting at the happy hockey table... I'd like to keep it that way!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 105: 2010 Assessment
