Les, thanks for refill #2 this morning... UnionHockeyManiac negged me for telling Mark good luck and to knock out Union as he wished us luck against Colgate...

UHM is a senior and really wants to see Union make it to Albany. He even apologized for the red. Ha. Joker status.


Slept until 11:30 this morning, it was glorious. It's also beautiful out, almost 60 and sunny out.

I just looked on the edina realty website, which has a really handy and easy to use map/search page, there are some down your way that are in my price range, but they're not exactly what I'm looking for, so they got filtered out. I guess you could say that you get much less house for your money when you get into that area, which is understandable when you consider the better neighborhood. Right now I'm looking for something less than $135,000 (yes, I'm cheap :p ), 2 car garage, at least 3 bedrooms and preferably 2 baths. And yes, they're out there, the ones that I have been putting offers on have all those things and aren't in bad neighborhoods. It is just a matter of finding them and getting an offer in as soon as possible as they come on the market.

I found this one during my search last night. Seems like an awesome deal (3 car garage, 5 acres, 2200 ft3, 4 BR, 2 BA, $103,000 etc.), until you notice the 2 words to the left of the picture, in the short description. :p

I don't think I'm going to be putting an offer in on that one....though we are going to go look at it, just because we are curious about what "extreme mold" consists of.

I think I need to be that cheap, just so I am confident that I can afford it even if I can't get a roommate for a while or if anything else happens that leaves me short on money. As it is, I am planning on getting 1 roommate, so I'll have some money to put into the house and buy some fun stuff.

I'll find a place eventually, it will help that I've already resigned to the fact that I'll have to buy a house in a place I've already described as a meth hotbed. :p (though, I don't think it is that bad up there)

edit: The other thing to consider is, once I get as far as the East Bethel area, I could go about 15 minutes further north and probably get into an area where I could have some of my cattle there, instead of keeping them back at the family farm

edit2: for ****s and giggles I searched the map for houses >$1,000,000. The entire metro had 588, I zoomed into Lake Minnetonka, and it had 339. So 339/588 million dollar houses for sale in the TC are around Lake Minnetonka.

They took x-rays of my shoulder it is not bad structurally. They check for clearances for the muscles and tendons to slide through without binding and it looks good from that standpoint. I probably just have a lot of inflammation in the the tendons and muscles. Now I need to schedule PT.

I'm currently performing due diligence on doing some significant remodeling to our now 40 year old home. Looking at a new roof, soffit, facia, gutters and possibly some permanent siding. I'm in the last undeveloped area of Plymouth and I don't want to sink a bunch of money into the house and then have a developer come knocking on the door with a nice big check for my corner lot. I've checked with all the neighbors and sent an email to my city council person. So far, it looks like no development until sewer and water is in place, and that's possibly several years away. So, we're kind of close to pulling the trigger on this project, but until I get a better estimate back from the city on when the utilities are coming, I'm on hold. I'd hate to put that kind of money into the project and then get creamed by assessments 1-2 years later. :eek:

This is apparently across the road from my Grandpa's cabin. :eek:

There are alot of million dollar lake homes around that area.

I know of a house you could have for about that price. It's a little bit more of a commute, though. You don't mind 12 hours one way, right? :)
