Re: Rep Retirement #151: Stop Letting Baukin make polls!

i enjoyed being in thailand and waking up to watch monday night football and the world series.

That's what I'm talking about. It's all win-win over there!

Are you grilling the oatmeal, bananas applesauce and the BRAT diet stuff?

Grilled applesauce -- now there's an idea. :p Actually, I had some waffles today. Still skipped lunch, tho'.

They had a presentation about how Kenmore Sq. has changed over the years due to the Sox and BU. It was pretty cool to see old photos of the area from a million years ago.

It has changed SO MUCH! WE went to the Island Creek Oyster Bar when we were in town a couple of weeks ago. It's NICE in Kenmore. Where're the bums? Where're the rats? Where's Captain Nemo's? :D

If you are awake and in the Twin Cities...look west. The light show is amazing. Looks like more developing as well...

Good Morning Lodge

It was pretty cool to see old photos of the area from a million years ago. Coach Parker was there, he spoke.

:eek:I knew he was old, but didn't think he was that old!

Seriously - it sounds like it was fun Scarlet.

Mrs goldy and jr head to PA this afternoon to see her dad. In their absence I'm thinking I'll go to a fundraiser hockey game at Ridder tomorrow night. For Defending the Blue Line. http://www.defendingtheblueline.org/

Morning.

I walked to get coffee this morning around 7 am. There was 70% chance of rain/storms. It of course didn't rain. I am convinced if it was 10% chance, it would of poured!

I wish storms would come through when I wasn't trying to sleep. Otherwise I would have been able to see the light show! I heard hail this morning as well. I love summer :)

Captain Nemo's came up a couple of times during the presentation. So did the Rathskellar. And Narcissus (which was Lucifer's before that). And iHop. At which point I yelled out "It was Charlie's before that!!" When I worked at the BU Bookstore I got off the green line and walked to Charlie's every morning for a grilled corn muffin. One day I got there and there was a big CLOSED sign on it. I literally stood there for about a minute and a half thinking "Um, now what do I do???" I was waiting for the inevitable Mr. Butch story, but that never came.

I thought of Mr. Butch as more of an Allston fixture, rather than an Kenmore Square one. During my time at BU, and subsequent time until this past year, it was the Chilli Guy who was the Kenmore Square homeless person. Pretty heavy guy with black hair and untied shoes. He died last year, I believe.

It is unnerving to hear people say how much they love violent storms. Back home, hail has destroyed 1000's of acres of crops and floods have also taken out a significant amount of acreage. I can't see it as a good thing when peoples' livlihood is getting destroyed.

But it's a pretty lightshow! And so is a volcano, even if it kills thousands.
