Breakdown of the list by birthdays and centuries:

1000-1099 - 2
1100-1199 - 1
1200-1299 - 3
1300-1399 - 0

One other item of note, there are 4 on the list that are still living.

Re: Reforming College Hockey

Seems like a bit of an obscure Pope to make the list? I just read up on him and I still feel like a few others are more deserving.
Agreed. I read his wikipedia article, I wasn't that impressed. I know there are a couple popes I'd put higher than him.
"God"
Jesus
Allah
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi
Agnesë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu A.K.A. Mother Teresa

Thomas Paine
George W. Bush
Gandhi - yes, already on the list at number 17.
No to the others, though, I'm sure Jesus would make it if he wasn't 1000 years too old. ;)

Well, the 1300's were a dark time in history.

Light hadn't been invented yet :p

Re: Reforming College Hockey

How Rachel ***** Carson makes the list over Teddy Roosevelt...there's no accounting for taste.

Also, I take it we've gotten the 3 of the 4 livings ones, now? (Mandela, Spielberg, Gates), or do the Beatles count as the 4th since a few of them are still alive?

I didn't count the Beatles, since some are dead and some are living. We actually have all 4 living ones already, Mandela, Gates, Spielberg and Gorbachev.

Re: Reforming College Hockey

To round out possible economists:
Thomas Malthus
John Meynard Keynes
Milton Friedman

As far as more religious figures:
John Paul II
Pius X
St. Francis of Assisi

Also,
Tsar Nicholas II
Al Capone
General Grant
Robert Lee
Samuel Clemens

Ah, didn't realize Gorbachev was still alive. Figured his drinking would've caught up to him by now. :D

Nope to all of these.

We're getting to the point now where it gets pretty tough. I will figure out a way to spur it on a little bit.

First off, I'll give you guys one, that will never be guessed, because even though it is a person, the person doesn't have a ****ing name.

Are there any more abstract ones like that?
If so, then going by their persons of the year, I'll add the American GI and "you".

No, that was the last one like that. We're also through with the ones with more than 1 person, like Watson and Crick, and The Beatles. Only real individual people left.
This is the worst list ever made.
I was waiting for the complaining. :p

Blame Time Magazine. :D

I doubt I'm on the list, but I appreciate the thought. :)

Re: Reforming College Hockey

Yep, I think there are only 2 people that are on the list because of religion left. 1 is a pope.

Also, there are several writers left and several that are on the list for exploration.
