Re: Reforming College Hockey

Challenge!!!!
This will be fun. Please don't cheat!

Name the 100 most influential people of the last 1000 years, according to Time Magazine. Just name 1 at a time, and as people get them right, I'll fill in where they rank on the list.

Go! :D

Re: Reforming College Hockey

JLo is old news. Affleck is going for hotter, younger, less Mexican ladies now.

Bad call.

JLo isn't of Mexican decent. (yo soy Boriqua!)

And I'm very much in favor of women of the decent of JLo. :D

If you want to look up a hotte, look up Mr JLo's previous wife. She was a former Miss Universe.

Yeah, I was just kidding around, I have no problems with ladies of JLo's decent. :p

Re: Reforming College Hockey

No one is arguing the enforcement of academic standards. You keep bringing it up like it's a point of contention. It's not.

The question is why is it necessary to reform college hockey. An 82% GSR is higher then most student body. Ergo, no problem and no reason for a thread.

But just to drag this out. Say the NCAA implemented a 50% GSR requirement......who would that have affected last year? NO ONE. !!!

Get it? It's not a problem.

You did not specify who achieved the 82% GSR; all college students, college athletes, college hockey players, all college hockey teams from all divisions, Division I post-season playoff hockey teams? The devil is in the details. No matter.

A minority of U.S. businesses perpetrate financial fraud, but some do. A minority of college hockey programs perpetrate academic fraud, but some do. Is it reasonable to ignore fraud in finance or hockey because it is fairly rare at the time?

Federal regulation of financial markets was all but suspended for a decade with the assumption that fianancial markets would regulate themselves. That didn't work out. At all. The NCAA has demonstrably suspended regulation of financial and academic requirements in college hockey. Apologists promise that colleges with hockey teams will regulate themselves. Drool if you agree.
