Quinnipiac Bobcats 2025-26 - Viva Las Vegas!

Well, that was MUCH better! Great to see Pelosi back too. Much needed win after yesterday's stinker.

We also got some help tonight from Princeton and, to a lesser extent, Union. QU's lead is up to 4 points over Dartmouth with 2 games left. We have the Big Green next Friday up in Hanover (see you there!), so a win in regulation, OT or shootout will clinch the Cleary Cup and the top seed in the playoffs.

Huge Friday night coming up. Hoping for the best but this team likes to do things the difficult way. Was really hoping to be there in person Friday night but plans changed this year and not in VT this week.

Some inexplicable defensive miscues in the third period tonight, and makes me really nervous to see the boys play that way with a trophy on the line. I hope the moment wasn't too big for them.

Still another chance to clinch the Cleary Cup tomorrow, but that's going to leave a sour taste going into the postseason.

Another great season so far. As the season went on I felt they got a little tired. We played 2 more games than most and quite a few more than the Ivy teams. Hoping the team gets some rest & healthy for a nice run through the post season.

Best of luck to the women's ice hockey team up in Lake Placid this weekend! Bring home another ECAC title!

BTW, looking at the photos online, it looks like they made some nice improvements to the Herb Brooks Arena (new video screens, banners, etc.). Lake Placid is such a perfect site for both the men's and women's championships. Albany was OK, but the building was way too big and the city isn't as charming as Lake Placid.

The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team with a big OT win over Princeton last night in Lake Placid!

The Bobcats will now face Yale tonight at 5pm for the ECAC Championship and the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Game is on ESPN+ and QBSN (Quinnipiac Bobcats Sports Network - www.theqbsn.com). Go Q!

Big congrats to the QU women's ice hockey team for capturing the ECAC Tournament Championship! Perhaps we'll see a repeat of 2016 when the QU men AND women both won the ECAC playoffs!

Speaking of the men, the quarterfinal series are set. There were no upsets in the first round.

1. Quinnipiac vs. 8. Clarkson
2. Dartmouth vs. 7. Colgate
3. Cornell vs. 6. Harvard
4. Princeton vs. 5. Union

I think QU has a tough series ahead. Clarkson is a funny team this year with wins over Penn State, NoDak, Michigan Tech...and then loses to RPI (twice!) and St. Lawrence. I think this goes 3 games.

Union and Clarkson are the best of the 5-8 teams. This is a tough match up for us historically so I am hoping the team is focused and takes care of business in 2.

Glad we woke up for the final 21 minutes of the game, but the first 39 minutes -- until Wyttenbach took a stick to the midsection -- was absolutely putrid. Just not nearly good enough. Lost every race, didn't seem interested in competing, and just an overall lethargy that can't happen in the postseason. Terrible, terrible effort.

I was shocked how dirty Clarkson got late in the 2nd; they risked waking us up -- and they did wake us up, but we weren't rewarded for only playing one period of hockey.

Last time we didn't advance to Lake Placid was 2019, when 8th-seeded Brown knocked off No. 1 QU. Hopefully history doesn't repeat itself.

A shutout loss at home is not good at any time in the season... in the playoffs it's unacceptable. Totally outplayed in every facet of the game. Silverstein was the only reason the score was close. Yes, they did seem to wake up in the third but still not nearly enough effort.

Clarkson was extremely physical and we weren't prepared for it. Thankfully it's a 3-game series but only if they decide to show up and play tomorrow.

Silverstein was the only bright spot tonight. He played an incredible game in goal, despite looking like he was playing in pain all night.

I knew going in Clarkson was a tough draw for Q, but they are beatable. Like Mark said, thankfully it's a best of 3 series. Let's see how the boys respond tomorrow night.

Quinnipiac, all season (and last season!), had issues with larger teams that hit them hard (Alaska, UConn, now Clarkson). So I’m glad we’re solving this by bringing in five-foot-seven finesse players from the OHL for next year. This surely will solve the fact that the team is small and folds when faced with any physicality. Team needs to figure it out because after this weekend they're on pace to play Duluth, who are big and mean.

Another year, another painful and stunning exit from the ECAC playoffs. I didn't think we could ever top last year's playoff collapse to Cornell in Lake Placid, but we did tonight. That was ugly.

But give credit to Clarkson. They took advantage of Q's mistakes and deserved to win this series. I wish them luck next weekend in LP.

Now we wait to see where we're headed in the NCAA Tournament. I'd be shocked if Q is placed somewhere in the east.

Another strange Quinnipiac performance in the ECACs. First time a #1 seed loses in the quarterfinals since 2019 when the Bobcats also lost. Which was the first time a #1 seed lost in the quarterfinals since 2013 when Quinnipiac lost. Baffling.
