Also, BTW if that scholarship kid was already good enough two weeks ago, he or she has been on the university radars for years and will do fine. The economic impact will be very serious, no doubt.

I think the benefit of playing Yale is that they can make a last minute decision and not impact many travel plans. Until we hear otherwise.....Game on!

The Ivies just cancelled the spring sports season and are leaving it to individual schools to decide what to do about hockey playoffs.

My best guess is that the Ivies pull out of the ECAC Tournament, which could cancel the tourney. But I highly doubt the NCAA cancels their tournament, so Cornell will have a (very) tough decision to make considering how good they are.

Yeah, this is what I've been trying to explain. And this is why all these draconian steps make sense even though there aren't a ton of reported cases in the country yet.

Essex Co. NY (Lake Placid is within) declared at State of Emergency today... FWIW the NCAA is still running local ads for the Albany NY hockey regionals.

It should be noted that there haven't been any cases reported there... I suspect its more of procedural /preemptive move to allow access to state resources and funding, etc.

It’s also a ski destination that has been open and functional. Not sure the ECAC tourney is the largest influx of people

The NCAA just announced no fans at any championship events the rest of the winter season. There is about a 0.5% chance the ECAC Tournament is played with fans, if it's even played at all.

The NBA just suspended the season, and it seems likely the NHL is on the verge of doing the same.

I really find it hard to believe that college hockey isn't going to get frozen in time. Maybe they come back in May and finish, maybe they don't. But I'd be surprised if I'm turning ESPN+ on at 7pm on Friday.

GoColgateRaiders.com has an ECAC release saying Princeton at Q-Pac. Also Colgate at RPI. Clarkson and Cornell get byes to Lake Placid.
