Also, I bow down to the incredible Michael Garteig, who absolutely saved our bacon all night. Perhaps the greatest single-game goaltending performance in school history. We lose this game without Garteig between the pipes. We were uncharacteristically lousy defensively, and Garteig put the team on his back, told them to put their seatbelts on, and drove us to the finish line. Just an incredible, outstanding, remarkable, holy --- performance.

Now for the real fun. No. 1 overall seed. Let's go win the thing.

Go Bobcats! Gotta be Worcester. I can't see a reason to make QU travel even a tiny bit further just to send Providence to Worcester.

To be fair, a lot of that was the lousy ice conditions. Both teams had issues all night.

I agree. Overall #1 goes to the closest regional. PC got their gift last year.

I believe it is Albany for QU. with RIT UML and Yale. Too many HE teams messing up the brackets.

Question, why the outcry for Worcester? The mileage is not that big of a deal? Would you rather see Duluth, BC and Harvard over in Worcester? Take RIT, you know you can beat Yale, right? Woden from CHN

Hopefully a really good sign for Sam Anas -- in the pictures posted on QU's website, he's lifting the trophy after the game. Hopefully the injury isn't that bad and he's ready to go next weekend. What a brutal loss that would be for him to not be 100% in back-to-back NCAA Tournaments.

Overall #1 seed should get the closest regional, and be matched with #16 in the 1st round. It's an extra hour to Albany, plus it's Sat-Sun. And we wouldn't see UMD, BC, and Harvard... just swap the 2 regionals team for team.

It'll be interesting to see what the committee does.

He didn't appear to be favoring anything either. Lots of the guys were hugging him during the celebration. If it was a serious shoulder or collarbone injury I would have expected to see him in a sling. I certainly hope he's ready for next weekend.

Exactly. If they moved us to Worcester, they'd just move the entire bracket. They are going to protect the No. 1 overall seed, as they should, so we would never see the No. 5 overall team in our bracket. (Man, if Yale's on the other side of our regional, I'd have nightmares all week about facing them in the NCAA Tournament again).

Exactly, I was thinking the same thing. Unless it was a head/neck injury, in which case all bets are off. Hopefully it was a shoulder or collarbone, and they were just being cautious.

My thoughts exactly... Same brackets, #1 to Worcester. Friday/Saturday is MUCH better than Saturday/EASTER Sunday.
Albany is 13 minutes closer to me.

And his reasoning:

I think that you have to give serious consideration to swapping the entire East and Northeast Regional brackets because of attendance.

Why wouldn’t you want Providence, Boston College and Harvard in Worcester? Quinnipiac, Yale and Lowell are all close to Worcester also, but, the first set is closer to Worcester than Albany. And Quinnipiac, Yale, Lowell and RIT are just as close to Albany.

This is a tough call.

You should give Quinnipiac the closest regional being the No. 1 overall. But the argument is very, very, very compelling to put Quinnipiac in Albany.

I can’t see the committee only putting one Boston-area team in Worcester, and that team being Massachusetts-Lowell.

So I think they’ll make the switch.

Congrats to the Bobcats for another historic win. Looking forward to seeing them play this weekend. One more trophy to get.

Congrats to you guys for winning last night. You were the better team. Hope Anas is okay. Esposito deserved that penalty. My hope is that Harvard stays in the East and plays in Worcester but i'm afraid the committee will send them either to Albany or Cincinnati.

Landon Smith was by far the best player on the ice last night. He wants to step into Anas' role so bad... LOVE THE ENERGY! Sights are set on Tampa now... 2 down, 1 to go!

You have it all wrong, they should obviously move you to Albany so that fans of the mighty 36th ranked Tigers will have a four hour drive instead of a seven hour drive. See you where-ever! Tigers are meaner than bobcats!
