Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

Emailed Commissioner Krajewski tonight, prompt reply with hopefully some progress.

We have a meeting with ASN tomorrow.

They told us that outlets in NY and New England will be added. I will pose the question on the call.

We wanted to get some info our there on the broadcast as fans have been calling…

Stay tuned.

Thanks.

That would be good news, though it doesn't solve the bigger problem of putting these games on "ASN" in the first place. Hockey East gets NBCSN, NCHC gets CBS Sports Network, Big 10 has their own network. Even the WCHA has FS North, which I assume can be shared with other FOX Sports affiliates depending on who's playing ... and we get syndicated networks that may or may not even be in HD, much less may or may not be available on our cable providers. For the best league in the country. It's asinine.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

I thought it was just me that could not find a network in CT that had Friday's games on the list of stations published - unless I reverted to 1975 and put up an antenna.

Maybe the ECAC could maybe use some new blood on the executive board level? More progressive thinkers that can really move the league forward from a marketing perspective? The Asst Commissioner is responsible for the marketing of the league and one could make an argument that he has really failed at capitalizing on back to back National Championships for the ECAC. I mean ASN? Boxcast? Give me a break.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

This I agree with. Every other conference except the AHA is broadcasting on real networks. The ECAC should do the same. Its pathetic.
The AHA is being televised by Time Warner here in central New York, haven't found ASN yet !!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

Is there a way to get in contact with the offices of people that can make a change? I think if they were to get flooded by complaints they might work on something better for the fans. Actually, who cares about the fans. Do it for the players, they deserve to be seen in every way/chance possible.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

Email the Asst. Commissioner , ekrajewski@ecachockey.com at least will respond and answer questions. Even if the reply is "thanks for the feedback" at least your voice will be heard. I actually recommended that they look at Channel 20 or CPTV as an outlet in Ct, that is the question he will pose to ASN today.

Looks like Final on SNY on Sat
That's been known since Monday I think... it's the semi's that still don't have a local broadcast (on cable/satellite). Another embarrassment from the ECAC brass.

Meanwhile, I saw 5 promos last night for Hockey East Semi's/ Finals while watching NBC Sports last night. Not only is NBCSP hosting they are promoting it. ECAC can't even get real outlets in their teams markets (mid-Atlantic & New England). Such a joke.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

I emailed him. We always talk and talk on here about change, lets see some action from everyone on here in emailing them to encourage a change. Takes 5 mins tops

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

I emailed last night.

This was the response: "We are awaiting an updated list from the folks at ASN and hopefully that will include expanded coverage in NY and NE.
Stay tuned"

Hopefully they will have some good news for us.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

ECAC posted Yesterday on twitter that in addition to ASN, the games will be on TSN Go and Boxcast.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

Not to speak favorably about the TV situation, but I remember two years ago the tournament was on something like FoxSports MidAtlantic and no one seemed to have that. In addition it was supposedly going to be streamed on the FoxSports streaming app and it wasn't on there either. No option to buy the stream. The situation is definitely better than it was.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

I sent an e-mail tonight, I also mentioned CPTV and Channel 20, as suggested by LT. My wife and I will be at Lake Placid for the weekend, hope to see everyone Friday. Sect 24 , Row J. Go Bobcats.

I emailed him at the beginning of the week and haven't received a response. I was not very tactful in my approach which is probably why.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

FYI to anyone heading to Lake Placid - the Quinnipiac section is supposedly section 11 I believe.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

I didnt ask him to get more channels on it this weekend so thats probably why I havent heard back. I told him how embarrassing it is that we have 2 of the last 3 national champions and we only have American Sports Network broadcasting the game while every other conference has a major network of some type. The problem with FoxSports MidAtlantic was that the conference base is not MidAtlantic, it's Northeast. Simple thing, not for simple for the commish's office I guess. Like someone previously said, throw it on ESPN3 and everyone is happy, its that easy

I have a feeling we both went about our emails the same way. I was bouncing between being brash and professional... I stuck to my guns and went brash. At this point, I felt the committee needs to understand the frustrations of the community.

According to the QU Ticket office's email on Monday, the Quinnipiac Sections cover Sections 21-24. My buddy and I will be in section 22. Not sure if there are others that are designated as Bobcat-friendly.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

The team has arrived for practice at Herb Brooks Arena.
