Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

Looking forward to making my first trip to the ECAC tournament final since 2007. See anyone who is planing on making the trip on Friday!
It looks like I won't be making it up on Friday. However, if they win there's a really good possibility I'll be driving up Saturday for the final. I can't let them play for the Whitelaw without the flag in attendance! ;)

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

As I said after Saturday's game, I had a good feeling tonight. This is the most mentally-strong team in Quinnipiac history -- I had a good feeling they'd bounce back. Can't wait for next weekend. Go get that trophy.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

Didn't really expect to put up 15 goals this weekend against Cornell, but I'm glad we are moving on. Was hoping for the Bo Pieper hatty yesterday - he works hard. I'll be heading up to Lake Placid to cheer them on this weekend - let's bring home some more hardware!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

Of course it will be streamed. For the bargain-basement low price of $10/game.

It's better than nothing for me on the West Coast, BUT the stream kept cutting out on me. I had to reload the page about twice per period. It was also sad that they just forced us to pay for QU's normal stream. The ECAC, I mean the IVIES, need to get the stick out of their *****!

This I agree with. Every other conference except the AHA is broadcasting on real networks. The ECAC should do the same. Its pathetic.

If you are using Safari, try a different browser. I had trouble with the stream freezing every few minutes with Safari. Switched to Firefox and all was fine from that point on.

I run Chrome and it's almost never an issue.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

Now are these games going to be streamed as well as on ASN?
It's absurd and embarrassing yet again... the ECAC web site says:
ECAC Hockey has partnered with American Sports Network (ASN) to televise the 2016 semifinals and championship game March 18-19 at the 1980 Rink - Herb Brooks Arena, Lake Placid N.Y.]/quote]From what I can tell, Friday is being streamed (or I just can't find it being carried locally). The championship game on Saturday is being carried here on SNY and CW. If anyone finds Friday's games, give a holler.

There is a fan bus ($20 prepaid and non-refundable) for Friday, leaving Hamden at 8 am and leaving LP 30 minutes after our game ends. If we win, there will be another bus for Saturday leaving at 11 am. It's tempting... very tempting.

There is a local channel covering the game on Verizon FIOS in Port Chester NY, it's something like channel 481, I think it's the Arise network? Never heard of it, but it's on my cable listing. I don't know if that channel is offered in CT. I would assume more networks will sign on in CT, now that Quinnipiac is confirmed. Might not get that news for a few days.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

Still doesn't excuse the ECAC doing it the way they have the past few years. Two of the last four national champions, a steady stream of tourney appearances, and they can't get a decent TV package for the championship weekend. Not to mention the officiating we have to endure.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

And what the heck were the pollsters smoking this weekend? I have no problem with North Dakota being on top because they certainly deserve it. I just don't understand how so many votes swung their way. We played a tough Cornell team ranked in the top 20 in both the poll and the PWR, losing one game but winning the series. NoDak swept a weak Colorado College that's in the bottom tier of D-1 this season. I could see the votes evening out with a couple of vote advantage to NoDak... but to swing 20 something votes? Makes no sense.

As I've said in the past, the poll means nothing. In this case, however, I question it only because I'm curious...

The USA Today poll, we were split up by one vote, which is pretty incredible. Whatever, it doesn't mean anything. Only one poll matters, frankly.

As for what they were thinking, perhaps some of them are aligning themselves with the Pairwise?

You can watch the game in San Diego, but not in CT unless you put up an antenna, what a joke.

The ECAC just doesn't get it trying market their teams via a quality tv package. While we have many great teams they are behind the times in marketing. Pathetic.

I mean, just put it on ESPN3 and be done with it.

Oh, but they can't do that -- then they wouldn't be able to gouge their fans for $10/game.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015-16 - The post-season journey...

Nice hard fought series. Credit Cornell for giving QU everything they could handle at times. Also was good to see the series never fully devolve into dirty play.

It was a good series; congratulations. You will have the best wishes of many of the Lynah Faithful at Lake Placid since a Q title can help Cornell get into the NC$$s.

Emailed Commissioner Krajewski tonight, prompt reply with hopefully some progress.

We have a meeting with ASN tomorrow.

They told us that outlets in NY and New England will be added. I will pose the question on the call.

We wanted to get some info our there on the broadcast as fans have been calling…

Stay tuned.

Thanks.
