Travel day for me. First to New York tonight then on to Pittsburgh in the morning.

*Going back a few years, Pecknold recalled recruiting another goalie -- Hamden's own Jon Quick, who ended up choosing UMass and last year won a Stanley Cup with the Los Angeles Kings.

"First off, with Quickie, I had him in my office years ago," Pecknold said. "That's a great example of where our program is at [now vs. then]. We had him for a visit. He was at Hamden High, went to Avon Old Farms and we would have loved to have gotten him here. At that point, we were in Atlatnic Hockey, we didn't have a rink. UMass, a Hockey East team, comes in and we were done. The next Jonathan Quick that comes through Hamden, we're going to get to go to Quinnipiac, we're not going to lose him."

I'm actually toying with the idea of driving to Harrisburg tonight and then finishing the trip tomorrow. Not that I'm impatient or anything, I just thought two 4 hour stints behind the wheel would be better than the full 8 all at once. I really need to decide in the next hour or so though. Decisions, decisions...

If you have a place to stay, then I don't see why not. It will also feel a lot like today is the day, you know? No more waiting around or trying to fall asleep tonight KNOWING that the BOBCATS are in the Frozen Four.

Is this real?

Decided against it. The 4 hrs I would have spent driving will be better spent catching some Zzz's (remember, I'm an old man).

It will also feel a lot like today is the day, you know? No more waiting around or trying to fall asleep tonight KNOWING that the BOBCATS are in the Frozen Four.

I'm pretty sure this is the real deal. All the press, Facebook, Twitter... Bobcat fever is everywhere! This IS the real deal.

To everyone traveling tonight or tomorrow, be safe. Those of you riding the buses, don't use all your mojo before you get to the arena. Let's show Pittsburgh and the rest of the hockey world what Bobcat Pride is all about!

I never leave home without it! I even emailed the Consol to see if I could bring it with the hockey stick so I could actually wave it. They politely responded that the flag was more than welcome but the stick wouldn't be allowed. So I'll just have to wave it like I did in Providence.

That was a fantastic quote re: local players. A couple of local talents have opted for Hockey East more recently than that though with the Bank already open. Now maybe Rand isn't comparing the talent of Wallingford's Pat Mullane (BC), West Haven's Periera brothers (BU, Umass) or Hamden's Pat MacGregor (BU) to that of Quick's but Q should've landed at least one of those boys. Hopefully, with the direction the team is headed this is a focal point in terms of recruitment. I know a stumbling block at least in the MacGregor case was QU wanting him to play juniors and Pat wanting to go the prep school route. Maybe easing up on this would cause local boys to stay home.

In my hotel room getting ready to leave for the arena.

This ranks right up there as one of the most exciting days of my life. I still can't believe the Bobcats are in the Frozen Four! Can't wait to see them in person with my own eyes!

Yea so the waving T shirt at a bus was actually a jersey....... and it was me.

We just arrived in our hotel in Cranberry, and are going crazy waiting for time to pass. Really can not believe what is going on right now.
