Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 Post Season - The view from the top...

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 Post Season - The view from the top...

To my understanding, the student tickets are sold out. Now Larson got my tickets as I had to go home for the weekend, but from other students I know and contacts in the box office, I have heard that the student tickets are gone.

Counting down the days to Pittsburgh! This one week break has been a killer. What up ThxMuch

Alumni just posted there are some limited tickets available still.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 Post Season - The view from the top...

Student tickets or alumni tickets?

....side note, is there a difference between those through the box office?

I wouldn't be surprised if the university was providing a subsidy to the current students.

Student tickets are apparently $50, while general tickets are $200. So yes, a sizable subsidy.

Well I know student tickets are only $50 considering I bought one for $50. I am not sure, however, what deals the university is holding for alumni. However, if you go to the athletics website and click on the information page for the Frozen Four, it shows that both student tickets and adults/faculty/staff tickets are sold out.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 Post Season - The view from the top...

I saw that the students (who take the university provided bus) are getting bussed back and forth Thursday and (if need be) on Saturday... that's a hike but I suppose makes sense considering 2 days of student lodging would need to be arranged.

Can it be Thursday already?

On the Boston side of things, sounds like they are anticipating a large alumni turnout at the Greatest Bar.

Hey, Schvatz. Heading to Side Street happy hour without you. Sad face.

I've had nothing to say here all week; I'm too jacked up. I don't think it's really going to hit that we're going to the Frozen Four until we get in Schvatz's car (which apparently gets good gas mileage) and start the trek. It's going to be insane. I just can't believe my school is going to the Frozen freaking Four. That's the first time I've said that without profanity separating the two words.

Also, this topic has been of great debate among friends, both Bobcats and non: Are we rooting for Yale against Lowell? I'm saying absolutely not, because the risk of playing Yale in the national championship is far too great for my liking. Plus, something about having to knock off the last teams standing from the WCHA and Hockey East would really lend extra legitimacy to a possible title.

Besides, Yuck Fale. I hate everyone on that team.

I seem to remember a similar arrangement requiring the need for a "safety band" at the ECAC championships about six years ago...

Hah! I was there. I do remember well the RPI band stepping in on QU's snowbound band.

I did not play with that group (I was a student and with the band at the time; can't remember what else I had going on, or if I was even invited), but will still give secondary deference.

It's 200 for alumni. They are offering discounted rates at the Pittsburgh Crowne Plaza which is now booked. Also for 100 bucks they are offering a bus to and from Hamden to Pittsburgh though I'm driving with 4 others there. The Quinnipiac bar for alumni/staff/etc is Sharp Edge Bistro, 922 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, PA. There is an event there on Thursday April 11 from 4-7pm.

Hey man, a National Title is a National Title. I don't care who they face. If they can win that game, they're National Champions. No questions asked. No such thing as an illegitimate national title in hockey.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 Post Season - The view from the top...

All this talk about tickets being sold out makes me wonder if our crowd will be as good as it was in Providence. We had a great showing there and I'm sure the boys appreciated it and were inspired by it. They weren't bashful in acknowledging us after the game Sunday.

To all those excited about next week, let me say I'm all that and then some. I feel like a little kid who can't wait for Christmas morning. I know I'm a bit obsessive about my Bobcats, but this week has been brutal.

Gotta get past Jan first.

Excellent Statement Mark!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 Post Season - The view from the top...

At the last two ff's, I was able to go to the arena and get tickets from an unsavory character outside the rink for about 20 dollars each. So just sayin...

I would've loved to go to Side Street with you gents today, but the good news is that my car does in fact get good gas mileage. Its that power of foreign cars that I know you love so much.

As for the debate on whether we want Yale to win in the semi's, I'll say this: I want to win a national championship. No questions asked, that is the preffered endgame. So how do can we give ourselves the best opportunity to win one? I think it would be through Yale in the national championship game as opposed to Lowell. I want no part of Helleybuck (or however you spell his name). We have throttled Yale three times this year, and while I know they are hot right now with two extremely impressive NCAA tourney wins, I would still be very confident if QU played them again. So yes, I think I would like to see Yale in the finals.

WITH THAT SAID...Quinnipiac still needs to beat St. Cloud St. first, and that by no means at all is a gimme. It is just too easy to look ahead at what can be.

Just let it be Thursday already...
