Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 Post Season - The view from the top...

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 Post Season - The view from the top...

Congrats, Hartzy! Hobey Hat Trick
This. I'm biased, but can anyone make an argument for him NOT to win it? Without Eric, we're not going to Pittsburgh next week. Sure, the entire team did their job and earned the Frozen Four berth, but Hartzy has been the cornerstone of this team all season long. He's been there for the team all year. When he had his bad day (Atlantic City) the team wasn't there to bail him out. That one game should not decide the Hobey.

I know he's a longshot at best, but he's definitely deserving of the award.

Hobey likes goals, and Hobey hates goalies. Ryan Miller was the last goalie to win in 2001, when he went 31-5-4, with a 1.32 GAA, .950 SV%, and 10 shutouts. Hartzell has good numbers, but he doesn't lead the NCAA in any of those categories. There have been quite a few goalies with eye-popping statistics in the interim who failed to win.
2002-2003 - David Leneveu - 28-3-1, 1.20 GAA, .940 SV%, 9 shutouts
2003-2004 - Jimmy Howard - 14-4-3, 1.19 GAA, .956 SV%, 6 shutouts; Yann Danis - 15-11-4, 1.81 GAA, .942 SV%, 5 shutouts
2004-2005 - David McKee - 27-5-3, 1.24 GAA, .947 SV%, 10 shutouts
2005-2006 - Brian Elliott - 27-5-3, 1.55 GAA, .938 SV%, 8 shutouts
etc, etc.

Yeah, yeah, yeah... but this is MY fantasy, don't ruin it for me! :p

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 Post Season - The view from the top...

Hobey has come to hate ECAC goals. Austin Smith, now Greg Carey.

Teams have to make it somewhere for consideration in the hat trick. Hence why Polacek didn't get anywhere either.

The SCSU dude seems to be a shoe-in. Not only the goalie argument, but Gaudreau didn't get to the FF.

Heck, I'm tempted to say that Peca is the more valuable player on the Q team than Hartzell. And not because of his hat trick, either.

^That's awesome.

Ticket prices continue to drop steadily on StubHub.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 Post Season - The view from the top...

Hoping Ill have reason to buy one next Friday. As for the semi final, the alumni association is hosting 15 game watches across the country. Ill be at the one in Boston.

If I wasn't going to Pittsburgh I'd probably be at the watch party in Boston.

Vivid remembrance of my team's "Hockey Line", although ours was based around incredibly awful sight lines. Glad to see there is quite a bit of interest in the travel. Go get 'em in Pittsburgh. This year will include the third team to the answer of the trivia question of teams who are undefeated in the national championship game having played in at least one. Hopefully, it's you guys. We'd love to have you in company. :)

Picked up my tickets on the way home! Awesome! Is it the 11th yet?

If you told me back in October that I'd be going to Pittsburgh to watch the Bobcats I would have asked for some of whatever is was you were smoking. I still can't believe this is happening. What an incredible ride this season has been!

Where are the QU seat allotment sections in Pittsburgh?

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 Post Season - The view from the top...

I got Sect. 104 Row N seat 1+2. These look like good seats. See you in Pittsburgh. Eric said there are many students going. It's too bad that the open house is during the Yale game. (4-7 Thurs.) I would rather see the game.

The interesting thing is that Yale and QU both have corner seats in the same end. If Yale and QU end up shooting in that end twice during both games, it would be an advantage for both fanbases to show up and make some noise at that end. If you agree , you can stop by the Yale open house at the Marriott which is before our game. ;)

Are students that didn't score tickets through QU still trying to go to Pittsburgh via the secondary market and NCAA ticket exchange?

When I picked up my tickets yesterday at 4 I asked and was told they still hadn't sold out, unless there was a seperatew allotment just for students.

Also don't think anyone mentioned this on here, but congrats to Rand on his 4th child born this week!
My bad... I meant to. Congrats to the Pecknolds!

I got facebook messages yesterday saying that all the tickets were sold out and the Crowne Plaza was booked solid and that they had the Holiday Inn express as the overflow hotel.
