Providence College on the road to Tampa

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

except for Ellis, PC is playing at half speed

PC was playing half speed against Lowell in regulation also. Seemed to be overworked in that game and Jankowski in the Duluth game tonight didn't take a shift from about the 15 minute mark to the 5 minute mark of the first overtime. Odd.

So besides the seniors, who signs a deal? I think Ellis needs to sign a deal as he isn't going to have this good of a season again and the team should be weaker next season. Buy the stock when it is high.

Where does this team go now? You won a national championship last year but still seeing the top recruits picking the BC and BU's of the world. Jankowski was good for one season plus the NCAA's last year but his overall career was disappointing for being a first rounder who is going to graduate from college. Don't see that too often.

So who is going to score the goals next year? Conway and Foley? Pinho going to step up his game? Gamez was a decent scorer in the USHL but was stuck on the fourth line most of the year.

One of the other questions, Do the Blues want Walman after his injury or do they wait to see how he responds?

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

there wasn't much entertaining about the UML-PC game, especially considering multiple OT's. Great season though so congrats for that

I didn't think yesterday's game was that entertaining except for a couple of flashes. It is the Leaman's defensive system that does this as his team's are all over the longest NCAA games list.

The first two periods were boring for sure. But starting in the third and carrying over into the first OT, the game opened up and Providence got more engaged offensively. That kid who hit the post in the first OT for Providence will be seeing that shot in his nightmares. They had their chances to win it.

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

So is there any word about Ellis staying or leaving? As bad as the last two weeks went, Ellis was the one person who kept us in these games (I blame the posts. For both losses. Stupid inanimate objects). Understanding that we're set up pretty well with Hawkey, is Ellis a flight risk? We graduate so many seniors that the offense is going to take a hit.

I think the best move for Ellis is to cash in his ticket and turn pro now. PC will not be as deep next year on offense but they have some scorers coming in who might get hot. With no Parisi or Gilmour, they will have to be replaced but don't think they are unreplacable as I still believe McKenzie is your shutdown guy next year.

I wonder if the Blues want to see another year out of Jake before taking him.

Jankowski and Tanev have signed pro contracts.....wish them luck in the future

Saracino signed too. It is great to see six seniors sign pro contracts. This should definitely help the program.

A 2017 goalie committed yesterday too.
