Providence College on the road to Tampa

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

happy thanksgiving guys!

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you had a great day! I hope you all had a wonderful time with family, friends or just relaxing by yourselves if that was your choice. :)

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

And tonight's game is sold out. If anyone has 2 tickets... :)

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

This game has been fun so far.

Can we please stop it with the five minute majors?

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

They played like they were the number 1 team in the country......very strong third period, I thought they would fold after the 5 min major but they just regrouped and came out hot

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

Terribly officiated game tonight

Good to see PC show they are the top team in the country in that third period and dominate play. As BC and BU do when they are rolling, you enter the third period down a goal and in a couple of minutes, you score a couple. Great sign to see.

Depth of scoring up front needs to get better as many guys aren't producing (Rooney, Pinho, Foley, etc) and the defense is carrying this team now.

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

Must have looked different online or on TV, because the crowd was great. The student seats they sold were packed until the final buzzer, really impressive.

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

I would say it was about 7/8ths full. First time at the rink and it was very nice, except for the large, high and thick black railings that block views throughout the venue. I moved from my seats in upper 106 row a and stood the entire game at the top of a side aisle, just to be able to see the game. Good game with some bad calls against both sides, i think Snively's small stature had alot to do with the major, he was lucky not to be concussed. Great behind the net work by PVD which has been Yale's undoing in a couple of games this season, hope we meet again this year.

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

Maybe they should sell the side next to he penalty box first as the seats there have been empty for all the televised games also quite a few behind the goal to the right.....good to hear the students that were there stayed

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

ALOT of people were watching from the hootch lounge as well, that was nice.

We have discussed previously, that we suspect that has an impact on the feel when watching on TV. As the game went on last night the arena looked fuller, but there were still lots of empties to be seen.

That is certainly an affect you noticed when they revamped the FOF room and did't close it during the game

I would also add the seats Saty refers too are also the ones that were traditionally the season tickets in Schneider's early days. The Tory in theb70's was Lou got a lot of Providence College supporters, maybe through a business to buy season tickets, at best their attendance at games was spotty. Now I am sure 40 years on many are gone but if say even 100 seats (most likely less than 100 people since you buy at least 2) you are talking a little more than 3% of capacity)

Also I know a couple of people who have season tickets to both the PBruins and PC showing at PC if Bruins aren't playing. Still possible since PC tickets are cheap still. One even will miss games if their kid has a game. A point I notice from several people near me who have kids

Also Providence must recognize that since they encourage passing tickets on if you can't show and even have an on line method to accomplish this

PC hoop tickets can be sold on Vividseats if they aren't being used or if the season ticket holder chooses to sell the game. PC hockey season ticket holders don't have that option. Last week I couldn't even transfer seats due to a problem that the ticket office was having with their system. The ticket office had to print them and leave them for friends at Will Call. Embarrassing. It's sad on it's own that tickets can't be readily transferred and especially to see that the reigning national champs are STILL second fiddle at PC to the basketball team. Why can't hockey tickets be bought and sold on Vividseats etc?

Are you talking reselling or transferring tickets. I was told you could transfer

I was able to transfer tickets through email early this season to a friend with minimal problems as they sent me the tickets through the email instead of my friend but was able to just forward them along

I was talking about transferring tickets Cav. I couldn't make the NU game in Providence so I went to transfer the tickets to friends. Normally an easy task but not when dealing with PC. The ticket office people were great but they had to print the tickets and hold them at Will Call because their system was not transferring tickets for a number of reasons (according to them). This isn't the first time there has been problems with this system which leads me to believe that our D1 program needs a new system.

I'm glad it worked fine for you. That's how the system is supposed to work but.... :)

Unfortunately, there have been issues two of the last three or four times I've had to use this "service".
