Providence College 2025-26 Official Season-Long Thread

With the only thing left of the season now the NCAA tournament announcement and games, here's the 16 that qualified:

1. Michigan
2. North Dakota
3. Michigan State
4. Western Michigan
5. Denver
6. Dartmouth
7. Providence
8. Minnesota Duluth
9. Penn State
10. Quinnipiac
11. Cornell
12. Wisconin
13. Minnesota State
14. Connecticut
15. Merrimack
16. Bentley

I know the committee tended to flip some numbers to keep conference opponents apart from matching up in regionals. By conference you get

3 Hockey East
4 NCHC
4 Big 10
3 ECAC
1 CCHA
1 ATLANTIC

If they do it strictly by the numbers, Providence is going to Sioux Falls. Denver is obviously staying in Colorado, I don't know if they would flip Western for Michigan State to avoid conference matchups in a regional, being that each conference has 4 teams. Same with Dartmouth and Cornell at 6 and 11 would be a first round matchup. Providence would be a 2 at 7, but Denver has one spot so that leaves three other regionals to dump them in. I think a 2 would be given a little more favorable destination travel-wise than if they were a 3. Thoughts?

I think this stays chalk and we are in Sioux Falls....

I haven't looked much online for reactions, but it's comical when a single school used to complain about being sent way out of their local area. With the SD regional you have three teams doing long travels instead. But you are correct, I think there were two schools (ECAC maybe?) that got swapped out as the only change going off the NPI.

I read on another group that the SD site tickets were all bought out by ND fans awhile ago. Only tix available are allotments to the participating schools and I can't imagine the schools get a lot of tickets.

Leaman doesn't seem to mind being on the road, feels they have been a better team on the road then at home (or more local in this case). We will see. I think we will be in the white unis as the higher seed.

Glad to hear Sawyer is ready.

Sawyer's return is much needed. Going to miss Centrella a bit on the back end but they still have 7 capable D-men to plug into the lineup.

Glad that Sawyer is back, he is a clutch player . Centrella would have been great too, but the drop off in talent to the Dman replacement isn’t as great. I like our chances against QPac. Would be especially interesting in this part of New England if Merrimack upsets UND so we could get a rematch of the HEA tourney game. Could you imagine if Sawyer got the gwg in OT!

Hardly any respect given on the so called “selection show”, but this is our chance to walk the walk and I hope we will.

If Colby is calling PC's game please get him a lineup sheet with pronunciations for names. I don't need to hear "Kiv-e-ola" 49 times a game again.

Interesting to see three PC game watches in Rhode Island for Thursday's game. I do not ever remember that happening. Wally's Wieners in Providence, Wicked Good Bar & Grill in Lincoln and Newport Craft Brewing in Newport.

I wonder if anyone will show up? They deserve good support.

3rd period comeback was heroic and fell just short. Sawyer and Mustard are tireless key players and kept trying to the end. Very solid team of excellent players should be returning with old fashioned connection to the name on the front of the Jersey attitude. Very good recruits coming in. Great coaching and institutional support. A good year to look forward to, need a little more assistance from the hockey gods.
