Ahhh, that's a fine looking raspberry. I expect a few of them for picking Salem as the pool B selection, but my logic is solid. :D :D

I figure if the NC$$ can stay away from Adrian when they were eligible, they would have no problem selecting a MASCAC team, considering the always accusatory Eastern bias. Salem should have an outstanding record and generate some top 15 interest if their OOC record is decent. ;)

Dementia reigns.

Whoever wins the MASCAC better have something like a 22-5 record and only 1 OOC loss . Plus it has to a decent team, but not a tournament selected team.

SSC MUST win one game in Duluth to have any hope of an NCAA bid.

As we get closer to the season, I'm going to look @ the OOC's for the MASCAC and see who has a possible shot at a Pool C (or a B if the planets align correctly).

I agree with this logic, but wouldn't both of those games in Duluth be "out of region" and thus not taken into consideration for NCAA tournament selection?

I know they're playing SNC, and I think CSS. I suppose if it came down to them heads up vs. one of those teams for a pool c bid it could be looked at, but it's unlikely...

If it comes down to the final Pool C between SSC and an NCHA school, the record @ that showcase probably will be the deciding factor.

Compare them to an Eastern Pool C and they can't afford to lose more than one game to the ECAC-E and I wonder if they really need to go undefeated in their Eastern OOC games to have a slim chance at all.

Re: Pre season pick the NCAA field

Yup, I'd think that if they finished 23-4 or 22-5 and went undefeated in their Eastern out of conference games they'd get in with a Pool C bid, even if they lost two competitive games in Duluth this November...

Re: Pre season pick the NCAA field

This thread isn't nearly smoky enough.
I believe in open and full disclosure, thus I am immediately disqualified from any seat on a D-III championship committee.

Frankly, SUNY-O has got to figure out a way to stop shooting themselves in the foot. If you can split with Platty in the RS and drop the finals to the same and have no other conference losses, you should have a good enough PWC to pick up one of the Pool C bids, otherwise, it's Pool D once again.

Alas, it is tough to overcome divine predestination.;) :p (or perhaps it is the laws of motion) :p

What's the official definition of "pool D"?

If it's a good one it can go in the file with the map, bunnies, cinnamon rolls and ducks...

Platty will beat Adrian in the National Championship in 7 overtimes. The game winning goal will be scored on a dump-in that ricochets off of Remy's head as he is working one of the penalty boxes. Sadly Remy will be rendered unconscious thus will not see the greatest goal in Platty history and will miss out on the celebration. Shortly after the game Norm will find an instance on the internet where a similar situation occured in a Cricket game in Pakistan and tell us all about it ;) :D
