Re: POTUS: He's A Witch!

It is interesting how often we have had to use the word unprecedented to describe the Trump administration.

Durham’s statement is unprecedented and inappropriate. In the 30 year history of the DOJ IG, no prosecutor working on a related matter has ever issued a statement designed to contradict or undermine IG findings. It is grounds for a disciplinary referral. https://t.co/xjojS48cS6
— Michael R. Huh.

LOL.

TBH I thought Thanos was the good guy. But he didn't have to indiscriminately kill 50% of all life. He should have killed 99% of all invasive species. Like us.

I know Trump is playing 3D chess but methinks if you want the Jews to believe you are backing them you might not want to tick them off all the time...

His little Executive Order telling me what my nationality is is beyond aggravating. Pretty sure I am an American...

Bad Jew. You don't like Israel enough.

Now, give me some of the wealth you horde.

In 50 years when we realize Thanos is just a metaphor for us killing half the planet by boiling it alive, it’s not going to be as funny.

The more I hear about the Barr interview the more fascinating it becomes. I'd really like these weird unqualified interviewers to ask him to explain the 6 or 7 people that have been jailed as a result of this "illegal" investigation.

Re: POTUS: He's A Witch!

Pat Buchanan's The American Conservative calls for impeachment.

The case for Trump’s impeachment seemed quite strong more than two months ago, and the evidence provided to the House’s impeachment inquiry has strengthened it further. The president’s abuse of power is not in dispute. It is clear that he used the powers of his office in an attempt to extract a corrupt favor for his personal benefit, and this is precisely the sort of offense that impeachment was designed to keep in check. It doesn’t matter if the attempt succeeded. All that matters is that the attempt was made. It is also undeniable that he has sought to impede the investigation into his misconduct. The president has committed the offenses he is accused of committing, and the House should approve both articles of impeachment.

The president doesn’t have a credible line of defense left. That is why his apologists in Congress and elsewhere have been reduced to making increasingly absurd and desperate claims. The president’s defenders want to distract attention from the fact that the president abused his power, violated the public’s trust, and broke his oath of office, but these distractions are irrelevant.

The central question at the heart of this matter has always been whether we will tolerate the president corruptly using the powers of his office for personal benefit. The president’s defenders have answered loudly that they will tolerate corruption of the presidency. If we have any respect left for the Constitution and the rule of law, it is imperative that the president is not allowed to escape without facing serious consequences for his abuses. This is important not only to hold the current president in check, but it is also necessary to warn future presidents that such corruption will not be permitted to flourish.

Members of the House have been given a simple test of their fidelity to the Constitution. Are they enablers of presidential abuse of power and corruption, or will they do what their oaths of office require of them and hold a corrupt president in check?

Here is TAC's bias rating.

In review, The American Conservative has argued against American interventionism, against a debt-based fiscal policy, and against the intrusions on Americans’ private lives by the institutions and mores that exist and the wisdom that underlies them. The American Conservative is a very well written source with a libertarian perspective.

The American Conservative presents news and opinions with moderately loaded language such as this: What Happens When Kim Stands Trump Up at the Altar? This story is very well sourced to Reuters and the National Interest. Although they are always opposed to Democratic Socialism, they also frequently report negatively on President Trump, especially as it relates to foreign policy. When it comes to science, The American Conservative supports the consensus of science with articles such as this: A Judgement By Fire. While they do not support the progressive agenda of a New Green Deal, they do acknowledge that action must be taken, albeit with a more free market approach. Regardless of solutions, TAC supports the consensus of science.

Editorially, which is essentially what TAC does, they support limited government, limited military presence in other countries and general nationalism. In other words, this is a libertarian/paleo-conservative organization.

A factual search reveals they have not failed a fact check.

Overall, we rate The American Conservative Right-Center Biased based on story selection that moderately favors the Right and does not hesitate to criticize Republicans (Trump) when not adhering to conservative policy. We also rate them High for factual reporting due to proper sourcing and a clean fact check record.

Why didn't they go ahead and draw up all 26 articles ( or whatever) instead of just two? Are they saving some for later? Frustrated by the stonewalling? Hoping for acquittal? Too complicated to market to the masses?
For example, I think it warrants impeachment and removal that Trump (CinC) orders military personnel on layovers to drive across Scotland to spend the night just to profit his golf course. Or that he takes any payment at any of his properties from federal employees. Or visiting dignitaries.
And that he uses a non-secure iphone for presidential business.
And that he rapes beauty pageant girls, and pays for their abortions.
And that he's a fat jerk.
etc. etc.

They only did two because the American People can't digest more than that. Trump would be able to confuse everything if they did more.

It might be hard to explain or prove the most serious crimes (the real estate money laundering for the Russian oligarchs and whatnot) but there is a lot left off the table here that's pretty basic. I wonder if the dems would rather acquit and run against a lame orange duck in 2020 than against Pence?

I'm under the idea that voting to impeach was probably not the best idea. I would have kept hammering him with oversight and public hearings that kept dredging up the criminal enterprise. However, I concede that Nancy Pelosi is much smarter than I am. So there is a very specific reason things are being done this way.
