Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

Good to see you've embraced full Keyboard Kommando-ism.

Let me know when you actually get off your chickensh*t a55, and start the 2nd American Revolution. You NRA lemmings are one in the same - all hat, no cattle. ;)

It's already happening. See what happened on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November 2016.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

Ok. But since when did "whiny college kids" become the sole demographic of liberals?

(I'm seriously getting tired of the whole "whiny college kids" meme that is running rampant in political discussion)

Since whiny college kids have the largest collective voice on social media, it's very easy to find their rhetoric for reporting purposes. It also demonstrates where the nation is headed in terms of how we deal with opposing viewpoints. So both sides will deal with it like children. Great.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

And that's nobody's fault but the left, who lost interest in elections sometime after 2008.

Since you put it that way, let me sum up the "undecided" voter:

2008: Republicans screwed everything up! I'm voting democrat!
2016: Democrats screwed everything up! I'm voting republican!

And people wonder why I vote third party...

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

You know what, I agree with the guy in the video, Trump wasn't specifically going after the reporter for being physically handicapped. Trump's default retort is to use a physical pantomime to infer that anybody who disagrees with him (Trump) is reta-rded in some manner. How is that better?

I don't think anyone's saying it's better or worse. What's being said is that the blanket assumption of Trump making fun of disabled people, on account of an unfortunate coincidence, is an absolute false narrative used to try to de-legitimize the candidate. I'm sure many of us have our own "mocking" tendencies when it come to people we think are buffoons, whether it's physical or vocal (gives me a good idea for a poster contest on here... :p), and if you want to poke at why you think the person's opinion of being a buffoon is terrible, that's fair game. But using a normal tendency and coincidence to make a blanket statement about a group of people is deplorable.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

It's also what whiny college kids who protest against conservative speaking engagements on their campuses are saying.

Every liberal I know personally disavows that. That the schools sometimes knuckle under to those students alarms me.

I don't care if the dude is a Holocaust denier or a Sandy Hook denier. If he is invited to speak, you politely hear him out, then destroy him during Q&A. That's how we handled Edward Teller when he spoke at Bailey Hall when I was a student.

This is correct and likely to be repeated again in 2020.

The sum total of people's wonder about you.

I don't find that to be accurate in the slightest.

You've been the biggest Trump cheerleader here despite supposedly voting Johnson. Though it does give you a great cop out if things go down the crapper.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

I agree we should sacrifice the gun control candle to win the greater game.

For that matter, once liberals are as likely to have guns as conservatives the latter will have to think twice before launching their III%er circle jerk. Also I can't wait to see the look in our concealed carry country cousins' eyes when every would-be black lynching victim is packing a Glock 17 9mm. "Wait a minute. This isn't what I meant!" :p The best part is the NRA is all for it: more $$$. And with more education and better jobs we can push the prices so high the rubes will have to choose between another weapon and a house payment.

Also, rifles are fun.

The "PC" stuff is in the eye of the beholder. Is gay marriage "PC"? Cuz I'm not f-cking a minority over just because a bunch of slack-jawed hayseeds like their Leviticus shaken not stirred.

Wait a sec... Kepler actually seeing the benefits of the second amendment? I'm shocked! ;)

I'll give you that's another big problem with the Republican administrations of the late 20th century, in that they were the ones to create gun control legislation, even if only in the form of "registrations", and point it towards minorities. Government doing what it does best: stripping you of rights, then selling them back to you as revocable privileges.

Absolutely every person should be armed. The stupid ones that don't know how to control themselves will blow themselves away, or get blown away trying something stupid. No more "gun free zones" for mass shootings to take place. Plenty of respect. I'm surprised anyone who supports going to half-shields over cages in college wouldn't also support this; it's the same thing.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

"Liberals say things I don't like so they shouldn't talk!" is what they're saying basically.

I'm pretty sure the left is saying the same thing about the right. Just look at the Fairness Doctrine, "fake news" regulation additions to the NDAA made during the last week of 2016...

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

I wonder what Metternich and Talleyrand would think of this?

Gonna be a long four years, folks.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

This is correct and likely to be repeated again in 2020.

Or 2024, especially since we haven' had a one-termer since the last time I "voted" for a democrat (assuming you count a mock election in elementary school).

I can't speak for everyone but I will say that I'm tired of hearing the conservative viewpoint. As someone who lives in a place where this viewpoint is very commonly shared I'm just sick of it. It's the same *ing thing for last 20+ years. It's racist, sexist, *s over the working class, full of false equivalency etc. I'm just tired of hearing it. If it makes me a child then * it, I'm a child.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

I don't find that to be accurate in the slightest.

Then explain why we haven't had two consecutive instances of a different group of people with the same party (i.e. not counting any president/VP chains) in maybe about 100 years...

Ladies and gentlemen, the epitome of any initiative, from any party, to silence the opposition.

Oh you mean how Trump funded the Clintons and actually came out to be anti-2nd-amendment?

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

Wait a sec... Kepler actually seeing the benefits of the second amendment? I'm shocked! ;)

Personal guns have zippo to do with the Second Amendment. Heller is (1) judicial activism and (2) laughably wrong.

But I have said before I've changed my mind about guns in the decade plus I've worked with conservatives, for three reasons. First, because they have struck me as experienced, knowledgable and extremely safety conscious in handling firearms.

Second, because with the non-Thumpers it is often the only issue they vote on, and in most other regards they are an ideal target for liberal messages re: the social safety net and wealth distribution. We are killing ourselves with people who would otherwise want to storm the tax shelters and take back all the tax revenue the rich have stolen. Flip that one bit and A LOT of ex-mil white middle class votes come back into play.

Third, because having lived in the city and the country I can see that it is inane to expect rural and urban people to operate under each other's gun laws. The two situations do not map and need different laws.

Rural/urban is definitely an issue; look no further than NYS. New York City tells the rest of the state how to live, and it's especially awful with the Adirondack Park Agency, which basically forces people there to live in the stone age. One of the main points of the domination takeovers is pushing people into cities where you own nothing and are subservient to an overlord, whether it's a city council, homeowners' association in residential areas (I don't even know how people even "own" homes when part of that), big brother police state, whatever term is used for the documentation in question.

Yup, you're a child.

It's time to start acting like an adult and accept that not everyone has had the same life experiences as you. These people with different experiences may have even come to different conclusions than you have about the way life works and will voice their opinions on the matters of the day.

Boo hoo. Suck it up, Buttercup.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

I haven't heard a "conservative" position in this country since William F. Buckley died.

Reactionary, libertarian, or crypto-fascist, yes. All those voices are strong. But there are no "conservatives" left in America. The right is either populist or radical, and conservatives would be appalled.
