You know it's ****ing interesting that they have to shut up but the guy in the oval office doesn't. He lies all the time. He just lied this weekend in his tweet storm. Again. The double standard and the false equivalency BS not only got him elected but if it's here to stay it will END journalism, real news, and the Democratic Party all at the same time.

You wouldn't hear any complaints from me if all three shut up. I was saying they should shut up as a practical means to win elections.

I agree we should sacrifice the gun control candle to win the greater game.

For that matter, once liberals are as likely to have guns as conservatives the latter will have to think twice before launching their III%er circle jerk. Also I can't wait to see the look in our concealed carry country cousins' eyes when every would-be black lynching victim is packing a Glock 17 9mm. "Wait a minute. This isn't what I meant!" :p The best part is the NRA is all for it: more $$$. And with more education and better jobs we can push the prices so high the rubes will have to choose between another weapon and a house payment.

Also, rifles are fun.

The "PC" stuff is in the eye of the beholder. Is gay marriage "PC"? Cuz I'm not f-cking a minority over just because a bunch of slack-jawed hayseeds like their Leviticus shaken not stirred.

Empty-head celebs are going to pontificate because opinions are like you know what. People who hate a cause "because" Merryl Streep or LeBron James blat about it really hated that cause anyway.

Put it this way -- if country singers stopped making public pronouncements about these colors don't run hurr hurr it wouldn't change my opinion of the Forever War or the Empire. Let the idiot pretty ponies talk to their idiot fans -- literally no harm is done.

I really don't care if Joe Sixpack gets triggered by "rich, liberal Meryl Streep" saying a few words about Trump being a bully. Especially when it's entirely accurate, and they're just looking for reasons to dismiss or invalidate it. If it was Clint Eastwood expressing pro-Trump views, they'd be fine with it, of course.

These are the same people who think the Hamilton cast was wrong to call-out Mike Pence. They don't want dialogue, they just want liberals to shut-up.

EDIT: And before you start in on it, yes there are liberals that do this too.

I can't speak for others but I certainly want to see minorities, gays, women, and everyone else be able to defend themselves. A lot of those folks would enjoy shooting if they ever gave it a chance to.

You're right about the PC stuff. I don't want anyone's rights taken away. It's more when people get chastised for their views or historical stuff that irritates me.

The best part of the Hamilton letter to the new administration was it caused the leader of the anti PC/safe space movement to declare there that needs to be safe spaces.

And if you wanna know why we live in a "post fact society" this is exactly why. The "whiny college kids" meme is part of the assault on intelligence and education in this country. "We don't have to listen to them because they're just 'whiny college kids', they don't understand real life like the kids in the military!" It's a weapon meant to silence a group of people that have ideas they don't like. The other byproduct of it is that it suppresses their will to vote, "youth vote doesn't matter because they don't vote in enough numbers."
