Can't do any worse than a peace prize winner that hasn't had a single day of administration that didn't have a war going on. How much dust was caked on your anti-war arguments since 2008?

For someone who can pick up on some pretty deep "nuance" to deduce that the Govt is preparing Walmart death camps, I would think being able to tell the difference between influencing an election and hacking an election would be pretty simple.

If they're going through recounts and talking about re-voting, which has been brought up, I'm pretty sure you know which one they're making the accusation of. Heck, a congressman went on Tucker Carlson's show and said hacked. The White House Press secretary also said hacked, although slipped up and said China instead of Russia.

What about cutting and running, like y'all were clamoring for when Dubya was in office? Oh wait, that's right, only three people in Congress had the guts to actually stand up for that belief...

If the goal was "revenge" for the 9/11 inside job, even that was "accomplished" in 2010. What the hell have we been doing since then?

Dealing with a republican congress who fought you at every single turn. Realistically, Guantanamo could not be closed because of them, they did a great job raking the fires of disaster if we left, they blamed every single thing on Hillary, etc etc etc.

God, what an awful argument. It's like reading somebody defending a pogrom because they're, you know, "traditional."

News flash, knucks. Lots of "traditional" stuff was awful, including a lot of things in your magic book. A key part of maturity is the recognition that the bigotries we inherit from parent or pastor are no less terrible despite having been learned at the knee of someone we value. That ability to differentiate the messenger from the message is an important landmark on the road from childhood to adulthood.

You don't have to grow up. You don't have to put away childish things. But you can no longer use them to bludgeon your fellow man. That is what civil society is all about, Charlie Brown.

President Obama had six years of a Republican controlled Congress. Why couldn't he get much done his first two years with a Democratically controlled Congress? How will Trump's political situation differ from President Obama's first two years in terms of Congressional support?

In the first two years of Pres. Obama's first term he had a friendly Congress, but the only political thing he could consider a positive accomplish worthy of note was the PPACA, which had to be backdoored during a lame duck session as the Democrats were being ushered out the door following the 2010 election.

You should read a lot more Mencken if that's what you think he's about. And not the political stuff, which was just throwaway lines. The deep, hard stuff -- the literary criticism. There is a great mind at work there.

He had no love for yokelism, but yokelism is like any mass adjective -- it's a projection from a distance onto an undifferentiated group. When Mencken talks abut individuals his perception is sharp, and his sympathy with what is good in all men is profound. He hated the laziness of the public, but in the sense of its "public-ness." He hated the growing menace of the Mass Man in media, religion, politics and most of all in art.

Menken's enemy isn't this "common man" or that -- it's The Common Man -- that totem that tyrants and tea-totalers erect to magnify themselves. My God what he would have made of Trump.

pretty sure he was kind of busy cleaning up GWB's economic disaster and taking on healthcare his first couple years. Of course, he would then get cock blocked on everything the following 6 years...
