I don't think my post had a point besides quoting the old lady at work who daily spouts anti-Obama hate. Besides, there's a difference between someone working a holiday in a career they've invested in and knew what they were giving up by getting into it versus someone working a minimum or just above minimum wage job.

I may not feel bad for the NBA referees working on Christmas, but I'll feel bad for the parking attendants outside the arena.

This was discussed ad nauseam in another thread. Most precincts were off by 5 votes or less, and the explanation given was human error - ballots jammed and were counted twice when re-fed through the machine.

Can you provide a link without being a complete snippy asshole? Or are you just making this up? I have not seen such a report. It seems unlikely that 37% of the machines in such a specific area could be so far off by "paper jams." Let's say I'm skeptical until you back it up with something other than this sophomoric sarcasm.
It could be that there was the mother of all paper jams - but the actual investigation into the cause hasn't actually started yet. So go easy.

Ah. A system of checks and balances on the checks and balances placed on voting for people who wish to tip the scales in their favor.

I'm all for the right way of doing these things. The Electoral College voters are showing their agreement or disagreement, and states that have checks built in (ie: Minnesota) are keeping everything orderly.

This is the right way. Unlike whatever the North Carolina GOP is trying to pull.

You're right. That seems far less likely than "most" of the people in Detroit voting more than once.

I had no idea they went that fast. I saw one in a pit mine in Wyoming (I think) where it was climbing what looked like a 9-degree angle ramp, fully loaded. It made a lot of noise.

Those things were featured on the TV show Modern Marvels many years ago, one that was focused on large scale mining equipment. It was marvelous.

782 "extra" votes, out of almost 250,000 ballots cast. Even if we assume some nutty conspiracy to stuff the box, that's not even remotely close enough to overcome Clinton's massive margin of victory in Wayne County.

And by "so far off," you mean off by about 3 votes on average (both ways, btw. They were just as likely to have undercounted as over.)

If you're in the mine pits in western ND those monsters can sneak up on you because they are that fast.

Oh, and in the pit they ALWAYS have the right of way. Look. Look again. Look again. Listen. Look again. Cross as fast as you can (and that's when you're in a 1-ton pick-up truck)!

The link that works looks like the same story from a few weeks ago. Has the investigation actually started yet?
Regardless, you're certainly right that Wayne County is a lock for "D" even if Satan himself were on the ballot with Hillary. There'll be no surprises there. (If it was an attempt at fraud, they came up about 10,000 votes short...)

I think the "investigation" is on-going, but the counting is obviously done. Refresh the Free Press article a couple of times if it doesn't work, that seemed to do the trick for me.

Apparently, Detroit is also supposed to get new machines prior to next year's elections. That'll help whitey rig it for Mayor Duggan's re-election. ;)
