POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

Re: POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

That's a fair statement. I might add though you can run on whatever sort of platform you want. Once he is president though reality sets in as far as the budget goes. No one wants to pay more in taxes but unfortunately we can't run huge deficits forever, especially when it's not paying for anything of note. Maybe he will kick the can down the road like Obama and the republican congress did but if anyone was ever in a position to fix it he certainly is. It seems he wants to see people have a liveable wage and health care too. Maybe none of these things happen but people who think he is some sort of puppet for Ryan and Co are completely mistaken.

I don't know anybody who thinks Trump is a puppet of Ryan and the Aynian Nation. The most anybody says in that direction is that Ryan will be able to roll him because Trump is weak-minded and easily led around by the nose.

Insofar as Trump is anybody's puppet, other than Ivanka's, it's Putin.

There is much truth in this post.

Trump will be the weakest President with the most bluster we've ever had. He'll say a lot of things and insiders will patronize him while he's completely oblivious to the fact that no one likes him, no one respects him, and no one thinks of him as coming from a position of power.

The real power-brokers in Washington are all going to look like Frank Underwood by the time this is over. Everyone is lining up to put themselves in a good position to profit either financially or politically from this four-year rolling debacle.

This is making the rounds on Facebook. I could have sworn I've seen it before, but I remembered the discussion on here about where people get their news.

The fact that he's not actually going to have the business in a blind trust shows how much money he plans on making. Let alone, his kids are going to run it, and we have to pretend that there's not going to be interaction. Or the fact that he's got contracts with the government that he's now going to be able to work both sides.

Plus, the claim of "no conflict of interest" ban on the president.

I can't think of anyone who has or has the potential to do more harm to our government system. Just blows my mind.

Nah you are hyperbolizing...Trump is going to go all Bernie Sanders on the bit...after all he is a New York liberal

It's good.

I've noticed BBC slipping, though, gradually down towards CNN level. And CNN at this point is practically just sheer clickbait.

I wonder how Anderson Cooper feels about being part of a company that gave a billion dollars of free advertising to a President who is going to destroy his civil rights?

Only thing I'd disagree with on there is that I'd switch the WSJ and the NY Times on the vertical axis. Maybe 15 years ago that chart would be accurate, but not anymore.

Edit: I'd drop Vox, The Hill, and Slate lower too, though not by a lot. Is the Fiscal Tunes the one printed on pink paper? If so, I haven't read it enough to judge it well.

That's code for you've basically absolved every transgression that's been discussed in this thread as it pertains to one side of the aisle. From a perfectly neutral POV of course.
If you're going to accuse someone of something, at least don't be lazy about it. Why don't you list the "transgressions" I've absolved people of in this thread, let alone "every" transgression.

You guys have spent nearly a 1000 posts whining about Trump's appointees and whatnot. I haven't posted a word on those issues.

I've called a bureaucrat a whiner, a pizza boy crazy and "fake news" an internet version of what this country saw in print in the latter half of the 19th century. That's about it for this thread.

But I get it. Your last post was also code, right? But this time it was simply code for "when I see a post by certain people, that ol' knee starts jerking and I just know I'm not going to like it." Amiright?

My favorite list.

The Wall Street Journal is read by people who run the country.
The New York Times is read by people who think they run the country.
The Washington Post is read by people who think they ought to run the country.
USA Today is read by people who think they ought to run the country, but don't understand the Washington Post.
The Los Angeles Times is read by people who wouldn't mind running the country, if they could spare the time.
The Boston Globe is read by people whose parents used to run the country.
The New York Daily News is read by people who aren't too sure who is running the country.
The New York Post is read by people who don't care who is running the country, as long as they do something scandalous.
The Miami Herald is read by people who are running another country.

I'm sure there may be an updated, internet age list that is better.

I was done with CNN when they actually had a headline, "Women post drunken, barfy pix online". Verbatim.

I think when it comes to the NY Times, it depends on what section you read. The major news stories are pretty accessible but the analysis articles are often extremely detailed. Almost like a hub and spoke model.

I can't remember the last time I read a highly detailed WSJ article. Probably because of the paywall. So you could be (probably are) dead on there. Never heard of the Fiscal Tunes ( ;) ) but I did a quick google and it appears the Financial Times is printed on pink... Again, according to a five-second search.

I think you're also right on Vox, Slate, and The Hill. They have above-average analysis, but they aren't overly complex.

IINM we have somebody on the forum who actually works on that project.

It seems like a white elephant from the outside with the overruns and the test fails and the seemingly infinite feature creep.
Haven't worked on that POS since 2005 - you know, back when they were still promising that it would be combat ready in 2011. I made a conscious decision to take a step backward in my career in order to keep my conscience clean. I have been proud of every project I have worked on since then.

Haven't worked on that POS since 2005...

Seven words, an entire multi-volume set of insight.

I think that's all we need to know about the F-35.

I made a conscious decision to take a step backward in my career in order to keep my conscience clean.

Kudos to you. Says a lot about both you and the project.

Well. Thank you for your service. ;)

And better still.

WWE wrestler/McMahon son-in-law Triple H briefly mentions the limo-explosion storyline, and then reveals that Donald Trump—a longtime pro wrestling performer, mind you—called McMahon’s office to find out if he had really died after the explosion aired.
