Re: POTUS: A Sharpie Is Always Needed

I look forward to the reports that will come out a few months from now that Trump spent the entire India trip yelling at people about wanting to get out of Asia while the coronavirus was going in. You know it's happening.

Honestly, I wouldn't have held it against him if he cancelled trips to asia. It's just common sense at this point.

I mean cripes, we have national leaders with nCoV saying nCoV is under control. Can we please call him nCoV Nate?

He's too busy being terri-angry about the stock market dropping a thousand points a day and threatening his re-election. That's why he and his lackeys keep saying that it's going away or under control. Convincing rubes might not be as easy as Wall Street

Re: POTUS: A Sharpie Is Always Needed

If the markets do go through their long overdue corrections in the next few months, I'd expect quite the flurry of finger-pointing from Agolf Twitler. China's fault for creating/spreading the virus. Obama/Deep State conspiracy's fault. Fake News media's fault for ginning up fear. Bezos' fault for...something. Who/what else?

There is no way Dump knows India is in Asia. "Those people don't have slant eyes."

Yeah. The problem about coronavirus isn't the the health threat it poses to the American public, but that its gonna tank the stock market and ruin his electoral chances.

Everything is about him.

The guy who can’t spell and defunded the cdc and fired the pandemic team says the dems are no action.

Maybe I should let myself get quarantined for a few weeks.

And this is why you don't elect unqualified and incompetent people to be president just to "burn it all down".

Because burning it all down causes unknowable amounts of collateral damage

Re: POTUS: A Sharpie Is Always Needed

Good to have some facts.

In 2018, for instance, the CDC cut 80% of its efforts to prevent global disease outbreaks because it was running out of money. Ultimately, the department went from working in 49 countries to just 10.

Other things the Trump administration did.

Eliminated the US government's $30 million Complex Crises Fund.
Shut down the entire global-health-security unit of the National Security Council.
Reduced national health spending by $15 billion.
Consistently attacked Mark Green, the director of the US Agency for International Development.

The CDC is working on a new test to screen for the coronavirus, but according to New York magazine, problems with the test's development resulted in only three out of 100 public-health labs being equipped to screen for the virus. Moreover, each test costs as much as $250, and the Health and Human Services Department is already running out of money to finance an adequate response to the outbreak.

But, hey, you got your tax cut. Enjoy.
