I've already seen one say "yeah well that's just because of a trillion in stimulus" to which I would say "yes that was the whole fucking point".

Also, I'm quite sure that 7.5m figure will be used to justify ending the extra UE in places where it is still paid. At this point I have to think it's mainly service industry employment that is lagging and you know a lot of restaurant owners are just waiting it out with short staff and reduced hours rather than raising menu prices to pay enough to lure workers back. We've dealt with a lot of slow service when we've been out the last few months (and always tip well in spite of it, because we know they're run ragged and it sucks).

Gas prices by me are just fine. Hardly a difference outside of holidays when you expect big shifts.

I like that in the speech Biden said the jobs that will come from the Infrastructure Package will be blue collar that will not require college degrees. He is openly trolling every GOPer.

They'll scream about the deficit they caused by not taxing the rich for the last 40 years and that WE MUST HAVE TEH AUSTERITY!!!

Fuck these people. I hope Biden's deficits are $10T a year.

They expect the same kind of money to go to people who don't need it in the form of tax cuts.

So $1T to a <.1% of the population instead of $1T to as many people as possible. That's how it's been since 1980.
 
It’s almost like government spending to prop up individuals so they can continue buying goods and services even when jobless or working reduced hours helps the economy rebound faster…
